Headbanging can cause back and neck injury, or back pain later in life. Headbanging is violently moving the head back and forth, side to side, or in circles rapidly, usually to loud rock music. It is comparable to whiplash from a vehicle accident. Part of the damage may be due to its repetitive nature over the course of many years.
