Everyone knows diet and exercise can be very beneficial. According to the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, by following a simple diet, exercising and maintaining a healthy BMI, it can help prevent the plaque build up between neurons that is attributed to Alzheimer’s Disease. A study was done using 44 adults ages 40-85 all of whom had some form of memory/cognitive issues. All participants reported their exercise, diet, and BMI and had a PET scan. Results showed those with the healthy lifestyle had lower plaque levels.
