Infinity Luminary Massage Chair
Pros, Cons & Honest Review
[Music]
Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from Massage Chair Relief. Today, I’m going to share my honest opinion on the Infinity Luminary massage chair, including its pros and cons.
Overall Impression
Overall, we really like this chair. It’s a very well-built model manufactured in the Rotai factory, which is one of the top five massage chair factories in China. I’ve personally been there—it’s an excellent facility. That gives me confidence in the chair’s build quality, longevity, and lower failure rates over time, as well as solid factory-level support.
Warranty Considerations
That said, one downside is the manufacturer’s warranty. For a chair in this price range—typically $10,000 to $15,000—I would normally expect more than one year of labor coverage. The Luminary includes:
-
1 year labor
-
3 years parts
-
5 years frame
When you purchase from Massage Chair Relief, our lifetime labor warranty takes over after the first year, but many retailers don’t offer that. Without extended labor coverage, customers may be responsible for technician fees, which typically range from $225 to $450, depending on the repair.
Massage Performance
A major pro of this chair is the massage itself. The Luminary is a split-track (Syner-D) chair, which I’m a big fan of. Split-track designs generally deliver a stronger, more effective massage, and this chair definitely does.
However, that strength can also be a con for some users who prefer a gentler massage. Infinity anticipated this and included multiple padding options:
-
Head pillow
-
Neck and upper-back pad
-
Full-back pad
These allow you to customize the intensity. Even though it’s a 3D/4D chair with adjustable depth, padding can make a big difference. When you’re new to the chair, I recommend starting with some padding in place and gradually removing it as your body gets used to the massage.
Foot and Calf Massage
The foot and calf massage is another area that can be both a pro and a con, depending on the user.
Pros:
-
Oscillating and compressing calf airbags
-
Three rollers per foot
-
Rollers behind the calves
Cons:
-
For people who aren’t used to foot massage, it can feel too intense at first
Infinity includes foot pads that reduce roller intensity. If the massage feels too strong, simply insert the pads. If you want a deeper massage, remove them. The flexibility here is excellent.
Personally, I love the calf massage. The oscillating airbags feel fantastic—especially if you walk a lot, play sports, or have tight calves. I play hockey and do a lot of walking, so my legs take a beating, and this feature makes a big difference.
Design & Features
-
Available in black or brown only (a limitation for buyers wanting lighter colors like beige or taupe)
-
Bluetooth speakers with good, solid sound (not extraordinary, but reliable)
-
Soothe-Me sound therapy is excellent—nature sounds play through the speakers without needing to connect your phone
-
Memory programs (a standout feature)
Memory Programs (Big Pro)
Most chairs allow manual customization, but very few allow you to save those custom programs. The Luminary does.
You can create a manual massage—specific techniques, speeds, intensity, roller positions—and save it. Next time, just press the memory button and the chair recalls everything. This is a rare and very valuable feature.
Quick Keys
The Luminary includes quick keys, allowing you to:
-
Power the chair on/off
-
Select programs
-
Adjust heat and sound
-
Access memory programs
-
Pause or stop a session
This means you don’t always need to use the touchscreen remote, which is very convenient.
Minor Usability Con
One small usability issue: when using the touchscreen remote, the power-off option isn’t very obvious during a running program. I initially had trouble figuring out how to shut the chair off from the tablet. Eventually, I realized that pressing Stop ends the program and returns the chair to neutral.
It works—but I wish the power button were more visible during active programs.
Upholstery & Support
-
Durable synthetic leather upholstery
-
Excellent customer support from Infinity
Infinity does a great job supporting customers if something goes wrong. They’re responsive, accountable, and easy to work with—which we value greatly as retailers and, more importantly, for our customers.
Final Thoughts
The Infinity Luminary is a very strong, very capable, and very popular massage chair. It’s hard to find serious faults. The few downsides—warranty length, limited color options, and minor interface quirks—are relatively small compared to the overall quality and performance.
It’s a chair we’re confident recommending.
