Osaki OS-7200H vs. OS-7200CR vs OS-3D Pro Dreamer

OS-6000/7200H

Osaki has been very, very busy lately with adding new massage chair models to their line-up. It has created some confusion amongst massage chair shoppers, so I thought I’d lay out the differences between each of these models to make things more clear.

Originally, a couple of years ago, Osaki came out with the OS-6000 massage chair. A great chair with a small failure rate and a Sogno-like appearance. It had airbags in the head piece, which added an airbag massage to the neck muscles and the trapezia muscles on the top of the shoulders. It had a bunch of other features too, including chromotherapy LED lighting, zero gravity, arm/calf/foot airbag compression massage, waist airbags, seat airbags, a 30″ massage roller track, shoulder airbags, and a jack for your MP3 device with external speakers on the shoulder airbag mechanisms. What it did not have was a heating element.

Enter the OS-7200H

Osaki added a heat feature to the OS-6000 and renamed the iteration the OS-7200H, the “H” referring to the heat feature. All the other features were the same. Again, a very nice chair with a low failure rate. The OS-6000 was discontinued, by the way, although there are still some new ones available from Osaki.

Then, along comes this mechanical foot roller feature that is making chairs like the IT-8500 from Infinite Therapeutics sell like crazy.

Enter the OS-7200CR

OS-7200CR

Osaki just recently, as in a month or so ago, introduced the OS-7200CR, which has all of the features of the OS-7200H PLUS mechanical foot rollers. They also made a couple of other, non-therapeutic changes like a different textured upholstery, which is a little less glossy than that of the OS-7200H (maybe you could think of matte vs. glossy, if you are familiar with paint), and a different shape to the top of the chair. It is a more stylish and defined top of the chair back that makes the whole model look a little more aerodynamic, or something like that. You can see what I mean in the image to the left. By the way, this chair still has all the features of the original OS-6000 and OS-7200H, except for the 3 things I just mentioned.

But Osaki was not done improving on this model.

Enter the OS-3D Pro Dreamer

Within the last week or so, Osaki has now introduced a new model, the OS-3D Pro Dreamer, which takes everything you have in the OS-7200CR and adds 3D massage technology. What is 3D massage technology, you ask? Well, it is something that Inada pioneered a few years ago with the Inada Sogno Dreamwave massage chair. Let me explain…

Before the Sogno came along, all chairs had rollers that, when massaging your back muscles, moved from side-to-side and up-and-down. Those were the 2 dimensions along which all rollers worked. Inada introduced a forward-and-back motion with the roller system in their innovative and iconic Sogno model. This was the 3rd dimension that added the ability for the chair user to increase the intensity of the rollers simply by pushing a button on the remote which electronically moved the rollers forward-and-back to the desired intensity. We’d not seen this before in any of the massage chairs that we carried at the time. It makes perfect sense when you think about it, but Inada was the first to figure it out.

This technology is now becoming more and more a standard feature. Other than a clever airbag inflation technique developed by Human Touch in their HT-1650, HT-7450, and HT-7120 models, the 3D roller function is the only other technology that allows for roller intensity adjustment in a massage chair. I suspect that all companies will eventually integrate this feature into their product line. Osaki has finally done it with the OS-3D Pro Dreamer.

Although the OS-3D Pro Dreamer has a different name that breaks away from the OS-7200 nomenclature, it is still the exact same chair as the OS-7200CR, feature for feature, except for the addition of the 3D massage technology.

I should also mention that with each iteration of this massage chair, the price goes up. At the time of this writing, the price of the OS-7200H is $3495, the price of the OS-7200CR is $4495, and the price of the OS-3D Pro Dreamer is $5295.

I hope this clears up any confusion. If  you still have questions, fell free to contact me anytime at 888-259-5380. I am always at your disposal to help you sift through all the chairs and chair data to decide on a model that is right for you.
