Mail Bag – OS-7075R vs. OS-Marquis; Chair For Neck & Shoulder

emailHere are some great questions from customers, just like you, from our Mail Bag…

Hi there, I’m just wondering what would be the better chair out of the Osaki OS-7075R and the Osaki OS-Pro Marquis?

Hi, Henry
Thanks for your email. I would have to say, based on straight feature-to-feature comparison, that the OS-7075R is the better chairs. A little more money, but more features. Both chairs are made in the same Chinese factory, so they have body styles that are reminiscent of each other. The 7075R has had a few more tech support issues that Osaki has had to deal with, but the OS-Pro Marquis is very new and it’s reliability has yet to be determined.

Can you recommend a chair that’s suited for someone who is 6’4″‘ 250 lbs? I have mostly cervical spine and shoulder pain. Thank you…

Hi, Rudy
Thanks for your email. As I read your email the first chairS that came to my mind were the IT-8500 from Infinity and the Sogno from Inada. The IT-8500 can handle a 6’5″ frame with a great neck massage and it hits the area between the shoulder blades wonderfully. It is also a great bang for your buck. Your weight is not a problem for it either as it can handle a recommended max weight of 325 lbs. The Inada Sogno, on the other hand is a more expensive chair, widely considered the best chair in the world, but has some wonderful neck and shoulder options. With the headpiece in place, you can get an airbag massage of your neck as well as airbags pushing down on the top of your shoulders (trapezia muscles). You can also lift the headpiece up and over the back of the chair and have rollers work on your neck…and a very good roller massage at that. Inada’s motto is “if you can fit, you can sit”, so as long as you fit in the chair, it will function fine with any body weight.

Dear Dr Weidner
I did tried in the past the sogno chair in a trade show and was impressed with all the features exept for the rollers that was hurting my back when they were in the middle and the bottom of my back. I recently tried a OS-4000 at a friend’s house and was impressed how it massage my back without hurting it. After 1/2 hour using the chair, I noticed that the fitting isn’t really designed well; my arms will feel weird because there is a clamp for the shoulders and I feel like you’re stuffing your hands awkwardly into the arm clamps. It’s hard to describe, but I think they could’ve designed it better. For someone who is shorter(5′), I do not think it would be an issue. I’m 5′-7″ and don’t think a 6 foot guy would be relaxing in this chair. Knowing that I did not like the Inada Sogno and liked the massage style of the OS-4000, what would be a good choice for me. regards Yves

Cyber & Dreamer

Thank you so much for your email. Their are two models I would recommend for you if you liked the OS-4000, but wanted a better fit:

1. Osaki OS-3D Pro Cyber

2. Infinity IT-8500

These are two very popular models. Both chairs cater to shorter and taller frames (up to 6’4″ on the Cyber and 6’5″ on the 8500). The massage is intense with both, the Cyber implementing a 3D roller technology that allows you to move the rollers forward and back up to 3.15 inches to increase or decrease the intensity, respectively. The IT-8500 does not have the 3D technology to adjust the roller intensity, but it does have a very vigorous default roller intensity, which will give you a deep tissue massage.

Both chairs come with 3 years limited warranty (1 year parts and labor, in-home; 2nd year parts; 3rd year structure/frame).

Both chairs have mechanical foot rollers and zero gravity, which seem to be two very popular features that folks are looking for nowadays.

The OS-3D Pro Cyber is made in the same factory as the OS-4000 and even has a similar remote control.

I hope this helps in some way.
