Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com‘ and today we are going to demonstrate the thigh airbags of the new Infinity Iyashi massage chair from Infinite Therapeutics. On the remote control, they’re called ‘Buttocks Airbags,’ but they actually work on the thighs and the buttocks to move the buttock or the pelvic area across the rollers that are extending down in to the seat. Now if you remember, the Infinity Iyashi is the first chair that has longer – 49-inch roller track – than any other chair. Most rollers, most chairs, the rollers will only go down to the low back to, maybe to the top of the sacrum. Well, this chair, the Infinity Iyashi, is the first chair that it actually comes down in to the buttock and the back of the thighs. Well, while those rollers are on, the chair has airbags – and you can see the airbags on the side here – these airbags inflate and compress against the lateral aspect of the thighs, or the iliotibial band, along the side of the thighs.

Alan: Also, they inflate simultaneously, but then they also inflate one after the other, to shift your pelvis, or your buttock, across the rollers while the rollers are going underneath your butt and your thighs, very similar to what’s going on with the foot airbags and foot rollers. If you remember from the ‘Foot Airbag’ video that we created for this chair – we showed how the foot was being moved by airbags across the rollers at the bottom of the soles of the feet – well now, this is, on a grosser level, a larger, broader level, moving the entire pelvic region across the rollers of the low back and the buttock. So, I’m going to turn this on for you and demonstrate this to you. We’ll go down to ‘Airbags,’ and we will bring it down to the buttock. We’ll turn this on and you should be able to see pretty quickly, the airbags inflating, do you see that now, the airbags are inflating on either side of the pelvis.

Alan: They’re compressing and inflating in to the iliotibial bands and that serves a couple of purposes. Number one, it can actually massage the iliotibial bands on the sides of your thighs, but it also pins your pelvis in while the rollers come down. If you didn’t have these, the rollers would come down and kind of scoot your buttock forward, and you may not have the optimal position sitting in this portion of the seat. Now, in just a moment, you’re going to see the airbags inflating on either side – and by the way, I might mention, there are two little bladders in each one, one on the forward part, you see, you can see them inflating sequentially, now, one and then the other – now, you see, the left one’s inflating and the right one’s deflating. Now the right one’s going to inflate, you can see my hand, then you can see the left one deflating. This motion with the airbags is what is moving the buttocks and the pelvis across the seat while the rollers are going up and down, and that is a feature we’ve never seen before in a massage chair.

Alan: Most massage chairs now days have thigh airbags, but they’re designed to kind of just compress you in to hold you in so when the rollers come down to your low back, it doesn’t push your pelvis, or your body forward, it kind of keeps you pinned in so the intensity of the roller is greater. Well now, they actually have the airbag that’s shifting you, moving your pelvis across the plane of the rollers. So, like I had mentioned earlier, it’s like the foot roller, or the airbags moving your feet across the foot rollers, this is the same thing, but with your buttocks and your pelvis, fantastic feature, I love it, you’ll love it. The whole roller track going down to the buttocks and the thigh is phenomenal, you’ll love the whole thing, and this is just part of it to make it even more effective.
