Lower back pain can be eased by stress management, physical therapy and medications by 90%, but most insurance companies will not cover the expense of physical therapy which costs between $75.00 to $125.00 a session. According to Annals of Internal Medication Yoga, combining both stress management and physical activity is more cost effective than traditional stress management and physical therapy treatments. A study completed on 320 participants with lower back pain concluded that taking weekly yoga classes were equally beneficial as taking physical therapy, more cost effective and the benefits lasted a year after the study was complete.
