dictionaryAlan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from Massage-Chair-Relief.com and today we’re going to explain quad rollers to you. Now, as you may or may not know, rollers are the things – is the system that goes up and down your back – it’s the device that goes up and down your back, and actually rolls your spine. These rollers are designed to knead, or tap, or stretch, or whatever it is that they do to your muscles on either side of your spine. Now, the rollers, in the old days, used to be two, there used to be two of them, duel rollers, one, two. Now, they’ve come out with quad rollers, where there’s four rollers, two up top that do most of the work, and two below that are little bit more recessed, that kind of hit some of the areas of your back, when the upper parts may be working on your shoulders or on your neck.

Alan: So, as you know, your spine has an S-shape, right? So, in the neck and in the low back, the rollers are, or the curves are forward. In the mid back, they’re back, and your hips are back. So, you have the rollers, with two more forward ones, and two retracted ones, the two forward ones will hit the neck, and the low back well. At the same time that those forward rollers, those more forward rollers, the top rollers, are hitting those areas, the two little rollers down here will be hitting the – for example, when the rollers are hitting your neck, and they’re more forward – these little, more retracted rollers will still hit your upper back, or in the lower part of your back, when those upper rollers are hitting the forward curve in your low back, the smaller rollers, the smaller, retracted rollers, will hit your pelvis and your sacrum. So, that is what quad rollers are. So, two up, two down, they usually work, pretty much in concert with each other, but they are, there’s still just some separation of activity, between the upper and the lower rollers.

Alan: Now, it’s a little hard to show the lower rollers, but we’re going to try to do it on this chair here. You can obviously see those rollers, those are the two upper rollers. When we go down here, you can kind of see, working in the background, two more rollers. I don’t know if you can see that, but I’m trying to highlight them, it’s two more nobules, nodular, rollers sticking out. You can imagine this maybe going forward, and working on your neck, and these rollers working on your upper back. That is what we mean by quad rollers. So, when you read on a website, whether it’s mine or anybody else’s, and it says ‘This chair has quad rollers,’ now you know what that means. It’s very, very simple, it’s a very nice feature. Some chairs are coming out with even more rollers, like six and eight, even though I don’t think we carry any chairs that have that, but we may be in the future. So, they’re becoming more and more sophisticated with the roller systems.
