Post-Black Friday/Cyber Monday Stock Status!

Well, it was a very busy weekend in the massage chair industry, as it is in most retail businesses. I thought a stock update would be helpful for you this morning so you know what is available as of today:

1. Human Touch – HT-9500 (espresso color) is back ordered until the first week of December; ZeroG 4.0 (espresso color) is back ordered until late December; the ZeroG 4.0 in black is in stock but under heavy inventory pressure and will be restocked in late December. It could be out of stock long before then.

2. Inada – the red Inada Sogno is back ordered until later this week; there is about 1 week of inventory left of the Inada Sogno in creme and the black leather Sogno. So, if you want those colors order NOW. All other models and colors are shipping without delay.

3. Infinite Therapeutics – stock is good on all chair models and colors for the time being. The new IT-8100 has not arrived yet for the first shipments, although that model is available for purchase. It should be here this week.

4. Osaki – The brown and ivory OS-7075R’s are back-ordered until mid-December; the black OS-7075R is back-ordered until December 6; the OS-3000 in black and brown is out of stock, but there is no date for a new shipment; all OS-1000 colors are out of stock until the end of the first week of December;  every other model is in good stock.

5. Panasonic – all available models are in stock, with some inventory pressure.

6. Omega – all chairs are in stock.

Considering that we just got through the busiest shopping weekend of the year, stock is not too bad. But, having said that, I will also say that it will change with each succeeding day as we march toward the Christmas cut-off. I feel pretty secure telling you that if you have your orders in by Monday, December 17th, there is a fabulous chance that your chair will get to you by the 24th. Of course, if you order white glove delivery or if you live in a remote place that may not be the case. But, call to be sure if you are concerned at all.

News and Notes for Thanksgiving Week!

A wonderful week ahead as we get into the Thanksgiving holiday in the USA. I know my friends and family in Canada have already celebrated Thanksgiving in October, so consider this a late holiday greeting!

I am very grateful to all of our site visitors, our clients, and our YouTube viewers. You have made this such a fun industry for me to be a part of. I absolutely love being in the massage chair industry.

Lots of stuff to talk about today, most of which I will discuss later today in my biweekly Massage Chair Industry Update video, which you will able to see on our YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/massagechairrelief/ Continue reading “News and Notes for Thanksgiving Week!”

Some Massage Chair News (Inc. New Osaki Model!)

A couple of things have come across my desk this week that I thought you’d like to know about…

1. Osaki has introduced a new massage chair model, the OS-7075R. This chair is exactly like the OS-7000, except for two things: a.) the new 7075R will have mechanical foot rollers. Foot rollers seem to be all the rage right now, thanks in part to Infinite Therapeutics’ success with the IT-8200 and IT-8500, both of which have mechanical foot rollers; and b.) the motor that powers the roller system in the OS-7075R has more horsepower, thus giving the roller mechanism a little more kick and firmness. So, yes, that means the OS-7075R has a little stronger roller system than the OS-7000. When I say it is exactly alike except for those two things, I also mean it looks exactly like it as well.

2. A a result of the new OS-7075R, Osaki will be discontinuing the OS-7000 once existing stock and shipments have been exhausted (I’ve got a black floor model for sale now, I guess. Give me a call at 801-651-2026 if you are interested in it!).

3. The brown Osaki OS-7000 massage chair is back ordered for 18 days for the BROWN color only and the Osaki OS-3000 in BROWN is back-ordered for 8 weeks.

4. Infinite Therapeutics is working on releasing another new model before the Christmas shopping season. I don’t know much about it, but it will probably be a tweak to the current best-selling IT-8200 and IT-8500. I will let you know the moment I learn more.

5. Human Touch is back-ordered on the Espresso-colored HT-9500 until early November. Everything else is currently in stock.

Well, that’s about it for today. You can also check out my biweekly Massage Chair Industry Update video for 10/23/12 here for more of the latest and greatest.

JUST A WARNING: we are getting close to the busiest season for massage chairs. If you are thinking of getting a massage chair for Christmas, my strong recommendation would be to buy now when stock is really good for all companies. If you want until later in November, you may be having to settle on models and colors that may not be your first choice. Just a word to the wise!

Differences Between the Osaki 3000 and Osaki 4000 Massage Chairs

Osaki 3000 Massage Chair
Osaki 3000 Massage Chair

Osaki 4000 Massage Chair vs. Osaki 3000 Massage Chair

Osaki has come onto the scene over the last couple of years with a lower priced line of massage chairs. These are Chinese-made chairs

which have a nice array of features, but are all priced below $3000. This line of chairs is owned by the same folks who brought the Titan massage chair line to market and are based inDallas,Texas. The Osaki line is a great offering for the very budget conscious massage chair consumer.

I am always hesitant to carry a new line of chairs without some sort of track record or positive history. I am seeing more and more of the Osaki massage chair line in the marketplace and have actually delivered and assembled one myself.

The assembly was not easy for me. I am by no means a handyman type of fellow, but a chair assembly should be simple for anyone. I know there are many folks like me out there who are pretty useless with a set of tools, but who still need a massage chair and its accompanying therapy. So, putting the chair together was a bit of a task for me. I did get it done, but it took me some time.

I followed the assembly instructions and they were pretty well laid out, but it was the difficulty in attaching the chair back and then putting in the 4 bolts that was quite a challenge for me. I needed my son to assist me with the install. It would have been very difficult otherwise.

The installation is the same for the 3000 or the 4000 massage chair models by Osaki. The chairs also look the same. But, there are some differences between the two models that justify the price difference.

Osaki Massage Chair Differences:

  1. 32 airbags in the Osaki 4000, 25 airbags in the Osaki 3000

The difference in the airbag number is explained by the arm, outer shouder, and thigh airbags that the Osaki 4000 has over the Osaki 3000. The Osaki 3000 also does not have airbags that inflate from the bottom of the headpiece down onto the trapezia muscles on top of the shoulders like the Osaki 4000 does.

  1. Heat

The Osaki 4000 massage chair has a heat element in the low back. The Osaki 3000 does not have a heat function.

  1. Stretch Program

The Osaki 4000 has a stretch program, whereas the Osaki 3000 does not. The stretch program basically entails the chair back and the ottoman going up and down throughout the massage session, thus inducing what I like to call a “milking” of the spinal tissue, including the discs, the muscles, and the ligaments. It is a very comfortable program and most folks love that program in a massage chair.

Osaki Massage Chair Similarities:

Both chairs have arm massage, seat massage, foot and calf massage, shiatsu and vibration, 6 automatic pre-programs, zero gravity positioning, intensity adjustment control, and body scan technology. Pretty much everything you need in a therapeutic massage chair, at a very decent price. The warranty is 1 year parts and labor (onsite), 2 years parts only, and 3 years structure/frame. It is a pretty typical warranty that will take care of you quite nicely for the first couple of years.
