Yoga, a known form of exercise is somewhat physically mimicked during Islamic Prayer rituals. The actual bending of the knees and placing the forehead on the ground may help in ways which are therapeutic. The moves specifically are stretching the back area. With proper angles used during the process of kneeling and bending, people with pain in the lower back may find relief. The ritual of prayer is thought to relieve stress, and the actual physical stretching, bending during Muslim Prayer may help with back pain. Doing the angles wrong could have the opposite effects on back pain, and make it worse.
