The Silent Onset of Anxiety

Anxiety isn’t always something that is blatantly obvious, and in fact, many people don’t even realize they have it. That’s because anxiety can operate like a silent ninja, making you anxious without even knowing it. Have you experienced a recent stressful event that has caused you to act differently than normal?

Sometimes stressful events or even feelings of shame, regret, and depression result in anxiety, and it can be very difficult to get rid of it. Once the silent onset of anxiety ensues, it turns into a vicious cycle of lowering self esteem and motivation. That then turns into feelings of helplessness and powerlessness, that all come from inaction, avoidance, and a commitment to sameness.

But anxiety is more common than you may think. The majority of people experience anxiety that will interfere with how we feel about ourselves and others. The most important thing to realize is that in order to beat anxiety, you must recognize it, and not confuse its symptoms with who you really are.
