Panasonic MA73Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com‘ and today we’re going to demonstrate the shoulder airbags of the Panasonic MA73. Shoulder airbags, in different massage chairs, serve different purposes. Some inflate to the side of the shoulders, to compress, and hold the body in, while the rollers go up and down. Others inflate to the front of the shoulders, to pull the shoulders back. Others inflate from the back of the shoulders, to induce a rotation, or to move the shoulders forward. The Panasonic MA73 does the first of those. It pushes to the outside of the shoulders, to kind of pin the body in, while the rollers go up and down, to help intensify the roller massage. So, I’m just going to demonstrate this without me in the chair, and then I’ll go in the chair, and show you how it works on my shoulders. So, you’ll see the shoulder airbags here, they’re on either side. They’re inflating now. You can see how they’re inflating, and you can imagine the body inside there, being compressed, and it’s kind of like a pumping motion, in and out, in and out.

Alan: And I mean, it can serve some purpose to massage the deltoids, which are the muscles on the outside of the shoulders, but it’s more of less designed to kind of hold the body in place while the rollers go up and down. So, let me go inside, inside the chair, or in to the chair, and we will put the remote back where it belongs, and I will show you how this works, when I’m – with a human being – sitting in it. OK, so we turn the chair on. Now, I’m just going to isolate the shoulder airbags – but, and so you’re going to see this, just as an independent feature of the chair – but when you turn on a program of the chair, like an auto-program, the shoulder airbags work in conjunction with the rollers, as I talked about, so when the rollers come up and down your back, the rollers will inflate to hold you there. It works in concert with other features of the chairs, but we’re just going to isolate the shoulder airbags, so you can see them, how they actually work on my body. So, you can see now that the airbags are inflating, and I can feel it holding me in place, and releasing a little bit. And of course, you’ll have to imagine that my – well, not imagine, I’ll do it myself – I’ve got the arms in the armrests as well, and the shoulder airbags are inflating.

Alan: So, it’s doing some compression on my deltoids, which are the muscles on the outside of the shoulders, but it’s mostly just kind of anchoring me in to the chair, and it doesn’t hurt, and it’s not a painful thing at all. You can adjust the intensity of all the – all massage chairs, you can adjust the intensity of the airbags – so it’s not a problem if you feel it’s too tight, if you’re a really broad-shouldered person, and if you’re really, really narrow, and you’re not feeling enough compression, you can increase the intensity as well. So, that’s how the shoulder airbags work on the Panasonic MA73. I hope you found this video helpful.
