Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com‘ and we have done previous videos – I think two previous videos – to demonstrate and explain what a quad roller is. A quad roller has four heads, and that is opposed to a dual roller, which has two heads.

Alan: We’ve never done a video on a dual roller. Most massage chairs have four rollers, and we’re going to show you here on the Infinity IT-8500 how the full four rollers usually work. You’ve got two main rollers that dig in to the back, and then you’ve got two tracking rollers that will not dig in quite as much. You can see that the top rollers are protruding farther out than the lower rollers, but when you come up over the shoulder, and this goes up the neck, and this comes up the shoulder, this will do, this will dig in pretty good on the curves of the spine. And quad rollers are the most common rollers in the massage chair industry, and the massage arm, or the massage roller track, has all the force going through those four rollers.

Alan: Now, compared to a dual roller, which we can see over here on a Luraco iRobotics 7, you’ll see here that it just has two rollers, and there’s no trailing two rollers here. It’s black, so it’s a little harder to see with the black background, but there’s only two rollers. And the difference here, with the two rollers, is that as the rollers go up your back, and to your back and neck, all the force of the massage track goes through two rollers instead of four. So, the force of the massage track and the massage arm is not dispersed through four rollers, it’s dispersed through two. So, typically, chairs that have dual rollers have the capacity to dig deeper in to your spine.

Alan: So, if you want a deeper massage, a more focal, deep, higher intensity massage, a dual roller, like the iRobotics 7, or the Ogawa Touch 3D, or Smart 3D, those are chairs, off the top of my head, that have dual rollers. Most of the other chairs, 99% of the other chairs, have quad rollers. So, that’s the difference between quad rollers and dual rollers.
