Transcript of Video Titled “Massage Chair Relief Industry Update – 08-14-2012”
Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com‘ and today is our August 14th version of the massage chair industry update, and we’ve got quite a few things to go through today. I’ll make them quick so the video doesn’t last too long.
[SCREEN TEXT: Massage Chair Stock Status]
Alan: But first of all, getting in to stock, the Inada Sogno is all in stock, the Osaki chairs are all in stock, Human Touch has a few back orders – the HT-9500 ‘Espresso’ is back ordered until September, the WholeBody 2.0 is back ordered also until September, the ZeroG 2.0 ‘Black’ is back ordered until September – and the Infinite Therapeutics IT-8200 is back ordered until September in ‘Black’ as well.
[SCREEN TEXT: ZeroG 4.0 Coming in Late August]
Alan: I also found out that the ZeroG 4.0, which is, kind of, a little more juiced-up version than the ZeroG 2.0 is finally going to be available and coming in late August. There will be limited availability for that model, but it is going to be in stock, and as far as I know all other chairs that we carry are in stock. And if there is any change, and you do happen to order one of those chairs that, where the stock has changed, I will notify you immediately, and we’ll get you posted.
[SCREEN TEXT: Human Touch Promo – Free Foot & Calf Massager with ZeroG 2.0 Purchase]
Alan: We have a promotion going on right now with Human Touch. Human Touch is offering the HT-1355 foot and calf massager with the purchase of their ZeroG 2.0, and even though the ‘Black’ is not in stock, whether you purchase the ‘Black’ or any of the other colors on the ZeroG 2.0, you will still get the foot and calf massager. It’s a very nice bonus gift. I believe that one goes for two to $300, so very nice perk for buying the ZeroG 2.0, which is part of their new Immersion Seating line. And now, we’ve been trying to meet with somebody from Human Touch to sit and discuss this new line of chairs, but it’s awfully hard to get somebody to talk about it, but they’re nice chairs, they’re a low-priced chair, they’re a very nice looking chair as far as being able to fit in any kind of décor. They don’t look like a massage chair, but they look to me like a nice, low-priced option, if your budget is limited.
[SCREEN TEXT: Bonus Gift for Massage Chair Purchase]
Alan: OK. Let’s see, we’ve got – oh, I’ve also added – now, we used to have bonus gifts all the time on our website. We used to give a pillow, ice pack – oh my goodness, I can’t even remember, we had three or different gifts that we – oh, Sombra muscle cream. We’d give out these gifts with everybody that purchased a massage chair. Well, we weren’t allowed to carry those – offer those particular gifts with certain manufacturers – and it didn’t seem to make that big of a difference as far as whether people bought a chair or not, and it was a logistical issue for us because I had to order all those different extra bonus gifts, and mail those separately, and sometimes they were out of stock. It became a bit of a logistical headache. Well, we saw on one of our competitor sites that they offer an Infinite Therapeutics IT-2020 neck massager. It’s a little, you know, round, sausage-shaped massager that goes around your neck and shoulders and it massages that. I think the retail on that’s $100, and then our cost on that’s $58, something like that. Anyway, we’re going to be including that bonus gift. Now, we’re going to reintroduce those because I’ve had a few people call me and ask me about that option on the other site and whether I would match it. And of course, we always match anybody else’s offers of the chairs that we carry and that we have in stock.
[SCREEN TEXT: Neck Massager Gift with Infinity, Omega, and Panasonic Chair Purchases]
Alan: But that particular device will be now available on the Infinite Therapeutics chairs, the Panasonic chairs, and the Omega chairs. We’re not allowed to offer any kind of a perk on Inada or Osaki chairs, so you’ll not have those – and of course – have those available for those chairs, and the Sanyo chairs have now been discontinued. I might add that we have taken that off of our website, the Sanyo 7700 is officially a dead dog, and that chair is not available anymore. It’s disappointing, it was a good chair, a popular chair, a very nice zero-gravity chair, it had a decent price for a Japanese-manufactured chair. So anyway, I wanted you to know that, that bonus gift is available if you’re considering any of the other models from those manufacturers that I mentioned. Oh, you know, I had a – oh, speaking of changes to the website, I also added a feature for chairs that are on sale. If you go to the ‘Category’ pages – of course, on our ‘Home’ page – you can see that there are certain sales. We have sliders there that go across the screen, and you can see what chairs we have discount sales on. Well, when you go to the ‘Category’ pages, there’s now a green – a little green banner that says ‘On Sale’ on any model that is on sale – in case you don’t see the sliders on the ‘Home’ page. So, we’ll keep you notified of any chairs that are on sale. And there are some things that we don’t advertise on our website that we have in our showroom – and you’re welcome to call me any time on our toll-free number at 888-259-5380 or call me personally on my cell line at 801-651-2026 and I can tell you what we have – what other specials are available through the showroom offers.
[SCREEN TEXT: My Furniture Market Experience in Las Vegas]
Alan: Now Las Vegas, I went down to the Furniture Market a couple weeks ago and it was – I’ve never been to the Furniture Market – I’ve heard about it many, many times. I heard about it from my massage chair people. I heard about it even before I was in to massage chairs by patients of mine in my clinic that were furniture people, and they’d go to this furniture market in Las Vegas or a High Point Market in North Carolina. Well, I finally went down to the Furniture Market, and I’m telling you, this place was incredible. It was humongous, I think there were three buildings, they are enormous. From a distance, you can see the buildings rising up on the horizon, they are huge, not necessarily the tallest buildings, but enormous. The only word I could think of was behemoth or mammoth, they were just huge, and these places are just chock full of wholesalers that are there to sell their wares to retailers, to resell them here to this market. And so I went to visit Cliff Levin at Inada, they have their own little store there that they share with another company. I also visited with Kirk Jennings, who had a display for the Infinite Therapeutics chairs. I did not see Human Touch, I believe they used to be there. I don’t know if they’re there anymore, but they weren’t at this show, but anyway, the bottom line is it was just incredible, and if you ever have a chance to go to this place, it’s well worth it. I wrote a blog post about it and had some pictures, so you know, check that out if you’re interested and, you know, if you want to go to it, it’s phenomenal. I was very, very impressed, nice, nice stuff. I also might mention that I went to a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, I can’t even remember where it is, it was in the back end of some casino, and it was – and I had ribs there that were fantastic. And Cliff Levin from Inada had told me about this GoWildCasino.com site, took me there, and I was a little – I was kind of planning on a buffet because when I go to Vegas, I always think seafood buffet because I don’t get those very often here in Utah – but we went out for these ribs at this place and they were fantastic. So, Vegas isn’t the place for me to hang out at, but boy, oh boy, do I love the food there, and these shows that they have, like these trade shows are phenomenal, and not to mention, the entertainment shows. My wife and I went for our 30th anniversary, and forgive me for waxing personal here, but we went for our 30th anniversary in June to Las Vegas, to celebrate and we saw Celine Dion. Of course, we’re from Canada so, you know, seeing a Canadian singer who has so many great hits was awesome, and we thoroughly enjoyed that. We went to the Bellagio Buffet, awesome, and we just walked around The Strip, and it was a fun time, great place to visit. Anyway, forgive me for waxing personal in that department, but it was pretty cool to go to that Furniture Market. OK. The Sanyo’s gone from the site, I told you about that, the Human Touch promo, the back orders, the bonus gifts.
[SCREEN TEXT: 2 Different Sognos??]
Alan: I just might mention also, and I can’t remember if I mentioned this on my last video – but I’ve been getting a lot – I get a lot of these calls anyway, and emails about the difference between the Inada Sogno Dreamwave massage chair and the Inada Sogno Dreamwave Plus massage chair. I wrote a blog post about it, go read about it, but the bottom line is they are the same chair. When Inada first introduced the Sogno to the U.S. market, they had the Inada Sogno Standard and the Inada Sogno Dreamwave Plus because the Dreamwave Plus had the Dreamwave [feature] and the Standard didn’t, so it was Dreamwave Plus to what the Standard had. Well, within a few months Inada discontinued the Standard and it was just the Dreamwave Plus, and in November of last year they dropped the ‘Plus.’ I think we still have it on our website on the URL of the Sogno page, we’ve got to change that because it’s confusing to people, but when you read about the Inada Sogno Dreamwave Plus and the Inada Sogno Dreamwave, same chair. Don’t freak out about thinking that there’s some model that you’re missing out on. It’s the same chair, and it’s the only model of the Sogno that Inada carries. So, I hope that answers that question for those of you that have wondered that yourself. Anyway, that’s pretty much it. If you have any questions about anything I’ve talked about today or if you have any news that you’d like to share with me that you’ve learned about massage chairs, feel free to contact me, again, through our toll-free number 888-259-5380.
