Alan: Well, hello, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com’ and today is our biweekly massage chair industry update for Tuesday, July 26th, 2016. I hope you’re having a fantastic summer. It’s hotter than blazes here in Utah, but I kind of like it like that. I’m from Canada originally, and I’m not used to heat, and so whenever it’s hot, it kind of reminds me how nice warmth really is. It’s interesting, because people will say to me when they find out that I’m from Canada ‘Oh, why didn’t you stay there? It’s so beautiful,’ and I say ‘Well, what time were you there?’ They say ‘Oh, we were there in July or August.’ I say ‘Well, go to Edmonton in February, and come back, and talk to me,’ but no one’s come back. So, anyway – I mean, to talk to me – anyway, I hope you’re having a great day. Today we’re going to go over a few things.

Alan: As far as stock status goes, I will let you know that as far as I know, everything’s in stock. Human Touch has discontinued the HT-9500 in ‘Espresso,’ and they’re not going – and it’s out of stock – well, hold on, now, is it out of stock? Yeah, it’s out of stock, and it’s being discontinued. Now, I don’t know if they’re discontinuing the whole 9500 line, I’m not sure, but the ‘Espresso’ has been discontinued. Oh, I do know that the Navitas is back-ordered until the end of August, the Human Touch Navitas is back-order until the end of August. As far as I know, everything else is in stock.

Alan: I have a couple of used chairs, if you want to go – and I don’t know, I’ve mentioned this before – but we have a pre-owned, kind of a clearance directory, on our website. It’s across the top of our navigation bar, and if you go on there, you can see what used chairs we have, and we just have, this chair’s not even a month old, it’s a ‘Red’ DreamWave, and I think I’m asking, is it $6999, or something outrageously inexpensive. But boy, oh boy, if you want a DreamWave, and this is widely considered the Rolls Royce chair, widely considered the best chair in the world, take a look at the ‘Red’ DreamWave on my website, on the pre-owned, used directory, and jump on that. It’s not going to be there long, I just put it up yesterday. Anyway, and that’s the red color. We also have an Osaki 4D, OS-4D Pro JP Premium. Now, this chair is 100% made in Japan, it is made by Fuji Medical, it is a great chair. It’s not great if you’re well over six feet, and it’s not great if you’re really, really wide, because it’s a smaller chair, but a wonderful chair, Japanese made. It feels like a Japanese chair, it kind of has the same feeling of the massage rollers, and the way everything seems to work, it feels very Japanese, and like all Japanese chairs, it does not have foot rollers, it does not have zero gravity, or an L-track. None of the Japanese chairs have those three things, but it’s a wonderful massage, and the price on this one, the used one, is fantastic. It’s regularly $5995, this one’s for $3995, and it was only used a month.

Alan: OK, what else have we got cooking here? We’ve got, oh, I told you about the new line of chairs we’re carrying called uKnead, U-K-N-E-A-D, and it’s a company out of Southern California. They were originally from Canada, where the line of chairs that they have has been up there for 30 years, is what they told me, but we now have the Lavita, which is their mid-range chair. They’ve got the Bella, the Lavita, and they’ve got a chair called the Adagio, which we will not be carrying. They’ve got a new model coming out that will kind of supplant the Adagio, and they’re introducing it at the Las Vegas Furniture Market this week, and then they’ll kind of go through the feedback from the Furniture Market, and then they will begin probably putting it out in September, and we will have that on our website.

Alan: But the Lavita is up, and the reason we have the Lavita up right now is because we have the Lavita in our showrooms. We have it in our Southern California showroom, and we will, either later this week, or the beginning of next week, have it in our Utah showroom. So, it’s a great chair, and what is unique about this chair is that the roller track, the L-track, goes down and hits the hamstrings of my legs. Now, I’ve got shorter legs, I’m only about 5′ 9″, a little bit, 5′ 9″ plus, so I’m not a huge dude, but the chair, the rollers go down and hit the belly of my hamstring, and there’s no other chair that we have, I believe, that hits the belly of my hamstring. It hits the top of the hamstring, where it inserts in to the pelvic area, but it does not massage the belly, they do not massage the belly, the Lavita does massage the belly of the hamstring, which is very cool. The Adagio does that too, but like I say, we’re going to be replacing that with another chair, they’re going to be replacing that with another chair, which we will be carrying, and that one, I suspect, will also hit the belly of the hamstring. So, if you have any questions about where the belly of the hamstring is, let me know, and I can help you with that. And you know, I think that’s just about it. There haven’t been any other new models that’ve come out, you know, summer’s typically a slower time, lots of stock of all the chairs. So, if you have any questions about any of the chairs, give me a call. As you may or may not know, we do price matching, so if you find any chair that we carry for less, we will match that price, and in many cases, beat it. You also have our Lifetime Labor Warranty when you buy a chair from us, so after the warranty of the chair expires, the factory warranty, as long as you get the parts, we will take care of the labor portion of it, and there are some conditions to that, so take a look at our website to know what those conditions are.

Alan: And we also donate a portion of every chair sale to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and we’ve – I can’t even remember what the tally is now, I think it’s over $20,000 – but we’ve donated quite a bit to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I have a real soft spot in my heart for kids, having six of my own and four grandkids, I also have a soft spot for anybody’s kids, especially those who are dealing with life-threatening or terminal illnesses. And I don’t like to talk too much about it, because I get kind of teary eyed about it, but it’s a very special cause, and I believe in it, and I love it, and so anyway, whenever you buy a chair from us, you’ll have a portion of that sale going toward the Make-A-Wish Foundation. And we also have a 90-Day Money Back Guarantee, and I’ll just mention to you, whenever you hear, whenever you’re, you know, surfing the web about massage chairs, and you’re reading about policies, please make sure you read the fine print of return policies, of white-glove delivery, of whatever, exchange policies, because they vary, and sometimes it can be a little deceiving. Like I saw somewhere where they say, you don’t have to pay for return shipping, but if you read the fine print, you have to pay for the shipping there, which is $250. Our return shipping is typically – well, it’s 50% of what of cost is, which is usually anywhere between $100 and $200 – so it’s cheaper. We charge for the processing fees, the credit card processing fees, and when you return a chair, some other companies don’t charge for that. So, it’s good to read the fine print, and make sure you understand exactly what they’re offering for their return or exchange policy. And if they don’t have much written at all, or I read one website, where it has one paragraph that says one thing, and the next paragraph is contradictory. That stuff’s – make sure you understand, whoever you buy the chair from, whether it’s from us, or whoever, whomever – make sure you understand the return policy, or else, it will cost you, and maybe it will cost you like a 25% or 40% restocking fee, or it’ll cost you exorbitant fees, or shipping fees, that you were unaware of that you would have to pay, so make sure it’s very clear. My experience has been the shorter and more concise the return policy, the more red flags, and the more you need to make sure you understand what the return policy is. Ours is a long return policy, and the reason it’s long is because – it started shorter, but it’s become longer over the years – because we have confusion or issues brought up by customers that we don’t ever want to have again. So, we address them in our return policy, so anyway, if you have any questions about that, give me a call, you know, you know where to reach me.
