Transcript of Video Titled “Massage Chair Industry Update – July 10, 2014”
Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com’ and today is our biweekly massage chair industry update for July 10th, 2014. We don’t have a lot to go over with you today, so we’ll kind of keep it short and sweet.
[SCREEN TEXT: Stock Status]
Alan: As far as stock status goes, the only thing that I really know that we’re out of stock on is the ‘Crème’ and ‘Red’ Sognos. They are supposed to be in, middle of July, middle to the end of July. So, if you are interested in those colors, and that model, which is still our most popular seller, go ahead and place your order ahead of time, don’t wait until the chairs are supposed to come in because a lot of times, they’re spoken for. This is a recurrent mantra I have shared with my viewers ever since I’ve started doing these videos – make sure that you order – you know, don’t wait for chairs to come in because a lot of times, they’re already spoken for.
[SCREEN TEXT: Increase of Panasonic 30007 Price]
Alan: Alright, I noticed that the Panasonic 30007 pricing has increased for us, for the retailers, so we have increased the price of our Panasonic 30007 on our website, you can see that price change by going to the product page.
[SCREEN TEXT: New AcuTouch 8.0 from Human Touch]
Alan: Also, Human Touch has come out with a new model called the AcuTouch 8.0. Now, some of you may be familiar with the AcuTouch 6.0, which is a chair that Human Touch sells exclusively through Costco, and I think I sat in the chair once a few years ago when I was visiting Human Touch in California, visiting their main office, and I don’t remember much about the chair to be honest with you, the new 8.0 looks a little bit like it. It seems to have shoulder airbags, arm airbags, foot and calf massage with a retractable ottoman, as most Human Touch chairs do have, some kind of obscured or retractable ottoman. It appears to have some thigh airbags along the iliotibial bands, I don’t know how intense that massage is. It has – here are some of the features that it talks about that it has – it has an advanced 3D robot. So, I assume that Human Touch has moved away, based on the term ‘robot’, they’ve moved away from using airbags to move the body further away, and closer to the rollers, to an actual roller system that moves forward and back, and as I learn more about that, I will tell you, eight auto-immersion experiences, which basically means eight auto-programs, which is a good, hefty amount of programs, 12 targeted massage techniques, and so I don’t know exactly what those techniques are, I would suspect they mean things like, maybe shiatsu, maybe stretch, maybe, you know, percussion, rolling, kneading, et cetera, et cetera, a penetrating neck massage, which is always good. Mostly, the Human Touch, most of the Human Touch chairs that I have, that I’m aware of, and that we have in our showroom do have a good neck massage, so that doesn’t surprise me. Retractable and fully encompassing foot and calf ottoman, which I talked about, and then it has this thing called a Cloud Touch massage, which uses strategically placed air cells designed to lift and squeeze muscles, simulating acupressure techniques. Now, I think that is the same feature that we discussed when we talked about the new, I think the new 5.1, the WholeBody 5.1, which I still don’t have on my website, but that, along with this AcuTouch 8.0, we hope we’ll get on our website fairly soon. So, anyway, that’s the news from Human Touch, a new model, so really, summer, which is usually a pretty quiet time has been fairly busy, with new models. We’ve got the Human Touch WholeBody 5.1, the Human Touch AcuTouch 8.0 – oh, and by the way, I’m not sure what the price, I don’t think I know what the price, yet, is on this one, but I will share that – yeah, it doesn’t have a price on here yet, but we’ll get the price tags on it for you, and let you know more about the chair, but I was going to say that we’ve had some new models, the two Human Touch chairs, we’ve got the Panasonic MA73, which we have yet to put on the website. We talked about that in the last biweekly massage chair industry update, and as well as the Inada Flex 3S, which I have in my showroom, and I’m just starting to fall in love with. I will tell you, I have been out of town, I was in Canada for a week, got back last Saturday, and then Monday, I had a day of work, but then Tuesday, I went to a Scout camp, my son’s Scout camp, to be one of the parents to help out, and I didn’t get back until last night. So, to be honest, I have not had a tremendous amount of time to put these products on the website, but they will be going up in the next week, and all these things will be available for you to check out. Anyway, so I apologize for those of you that were expecting to see it.
[SCREEN TEXT: Keynote Speaker at Amazing Bed Seminar in St. Louis]
Alan: I will be leaving next week, Thursday, for Kansas City to visit – I’ll be attending a seminar that The Amazing Bed will be putting on for perspective buyers of their bed – namely, chiropractors, because this Amazing Bed, this massage chair bed, which I’ve talked about in the past, has become fairly popular with chiropractors, and I’ve had a number of inquiries from customers myself, who are wondering if maybe a massage bed is a good idea. A lot of the people love massage chairs, don’t get me wrong, massage chairs will always reign supreme, but the massage bed is a wonderful way to introduce massage while you’re laying down in the act of falling asleep, so it’s a pretty interesting thing. I will actually be the keynote speaker there, and I’ll be talking about the therapeutic benefits of massage as well as other modalities out there that cater to massage, for example, massage chairs, licensed massage therapists, et cetera, et cetera. I don’t know if we’ll have a recording of that talk, I believe it’s a 7 to 10 minute talk that they’ve asked me to speak, but that’ll be next Thursday in Kansas City, at the Marriott, Courtyard Marriott, and I’ll be doing that for the people at The Amazing Bed. Apparently, I am the western, I am the only place in the western United States that has an Amazing Bed in the showroom, we have a small single unit, or twin, or whatever you call it, in the back of our showroom. It’s too big to put in the showroom, of course, but we have it in the back of the showroom, where people can fly in and try out the chair, or sorry, try out the bed. It’s an interesting massage, it’s different from a massage chair, but it introduces deep massage tissue, or deep tissue massage, to the spine, and to the legs, and to the buttock, while you’re laying down in bed, and it’s a memory foam bed, it’s pretty cool, so anyway, more about that as we get to it. You know, I have to say, that is about it this week, you know, with me being out of town as much as I’ve been, and you know, over the last couple of weeks for the summer vacation, I guess you’d call it, I haven’t, I haven’t got a lot of information for you about up and coming things.
[SCREEN TEXT: The Ultimate Massage Chair Buyer’s Guide]
Alan: Our book, our new book, ‘The Ultimate Massage Chair Buyer’s Guide‘ that I talked about two weeks ago, this is a book that I wrote, it’s taken us months to create it, it’s finally published. We should have it up on Amazon Kindle in the next little while. I believe that – well, I’ll keep you posted – but be on the lookout for it if you’re someone that’s looking to buy a massage chair, whether it’s for a business or a home, this book is the ultimate, consummate guide. It’s not just a little, you know, a four page, you know, a four-page report, like our other report, like our free report, but it’s a great resource for deciding on what chairs to buy, or sorry, not necessarily what chairs to buy, but what to consider, when you’re shopping for a chair. Because there’s so many chairs, I don’t actually make any recommendations of chairs to buy, but I do make recommendations of what to consider when you are buying a chair. So, that book should be up, I think we just went through the final proof of it, and we just have to get it, give the final go ahead, and then have it uploaded to Amazon, and it’ll be downloadable to Kindle, I think the price will be a couple of bucks, or something like that, if you’re interested in getting it. It’s well worth the spend, if you are a serious massage chair shopper.
