microphoneAlan: Well, hello, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com’ and today is our biweekly massage chair industry update for January 2nd, 2015.

[SCREEN TEXT: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!]

Alan: Happy New Year, it’s a brand new year. I didn’t give the update last week, which would’ve been the every other week schedule, on the every other week schedule, because I’ve been so sick. Since Christmas Eve, I’ve had this cough and chesty problem, and I probably would’ve started coughing, and who knows what would’ve come out of my mouth when I started coughing on the camera. Anyway, it is a new year, 2015. I hope you had a magnificent holiday season, and a great New Year, and I hope you have a lot to look forward to this year. You notice we have our new set in the back. We’ve got a new banner with our logos on it, and my wife continually complained about how cheap the other ones looked, my other videos looked, because it was basically done in my office, and my office is not very big, and it’s a mess. Of course, you can only see what’s directly behind the video, behind my head from the video camera, but it was not pretty, and I had to agree with her. She says ‘You know, you put a lot of attention in to making sure that your business is nice, and your website looks good, and your showroom looks good, why do you have, why does your massage chair industry update look so ugly?’ So, I had to agree with her, and so we had a backdrop made, and we’ve got some new lighting, and we’re doing this at the showroom now to make it a little bit, look a little bit more professional. So, anyway, from here on out, we should be using the banner here in the back, and use the new lighting, and hopefully this is satisfactory. Anyway, Happy New Year, as I said already. My voice is still a little weak from being ill, I hope I don’t lose it, and I hope I don’t start coughing. If that happens, it’s all over, but here’s the update.

[SCREEN TEXT: Stock Status]

Alan: You know, we have, I just, there’s not a lot in the way of stock to report. It looks like every company’s got pretty good stock right now, except for Osaki, which is a little low on the, they’re low on the ‘Brown’ and ‘Black’ Titan 8400 – and by the way, Osaki and Titan are imported by the same company, the Osaki/Titan company – and so when I say Osaki is back-ordered on the Titan, well, you understand why. So, they are back-ordered on the 8400, the Titan 8400, in the ‘Black’ and ‘Brown,’ and all of the OS-4000T models until near the end of January, beginning of February. A lot of those chairs were sold over the holidays, the new Titan, and the new Titan chairs, the Alpine and the 8400 are very popular, so I can see why there’d be some back-order issues there.

[SCREEN TEXT: Lots of New Models in the Showroom]

Alan: I will tell you though – and that’s about it as far as the back-orders go, as far as I’m aware from what my suppliers tell me about – but I will tell you that we just got in our showroom, over the holidays, we have the new, as I mentioned, the Titan 8400. We have the new Titan Alpine, which is like a bigger, more sophisticated version of the 8400.

[SCREEN TEXT: AcuTouch 8.0 Bali]

Alan: We have the new AcuTouch, the Human Touch AcuTouch 8.0 Bali, which we just got set up on Christmas Eve. I sat on it for the first time last week, a very nice chair, a very light chair, it required no assembly, the unpacking was easy, I did it myself because my son was working that day, and I just did it myself. It was relatively easy, it was not that big of a deal. So, it does not require white glove delivery, you might need some help lifting the chair, but if you’re ordering that AcuTouch 8.0 Bali from Human Touch, you don’t need – and if you’ve got some help lifting – you don’t need the white glove service. This week, we are going, and now, by the way, I’ll be doing a review on the Human Touch chair, the AcuTouch, within the next week or two. We also, and I did write a review on the Titan 8400, we’ve posted two videos on that chair, the introductory video and the first time use video. I also, today we just recorded the introductory and first time use video for the, videos for the Titan Alpine, and the Osaki OS-4000T, and those should be all posted within the next number of weeks.

[SCREEN TEXT: Panasonic MA73 Coming Tomorrow!]

Alan: We also are receiving the Panasonic MA73 finally, that thing’s been on back-order for a couple of months, and I had a number of people order them for Christmas time, and they never got there, but we are getting ours delivered tomorrow. It is an upgrade from the MA70 from Panasonic, and the MA73’s for taller people, it’s supposed to have a better arm and hand massage, and a couple of other features that I talk about on my blog, but I won’t go in to detail here. When I get that up, I will also be giving a review on that, writing a review, and filming videos of that chair as well. So, we’ve had lots of new chairs, it’s been kind of exciting. Osaki’s coming out with a new line called the Apex line, and I don’t know much about it, but I may be flying out there in the next few weeks, maybe the first of February, to check out the Apex chair, and the other chairs that they may have, that I haven’t had in my showroom that I may want to, you know, get a little bit of a review for you.

[SCREEN TEXT: 15 Models in Our Showroom!]

Alan: Anyway, that’s what we’ve got going on in the showroom, and it’s kind of exciting, having all these new chairs is great. We now have made room for 15 chairs in our showroom, we’ve always only been able to have about 14, but we sold our floor model Human Touch 9500, which is a big chair. So, by getting rid of that, and what was the other chair we got rid of, I can’t remember, but it made a little extra room, so we have now room for another chair. So, we’re putting in that, we put in the Titan chairs and the Panasonic MA73. Alright, enough of that chitchat. Human Touch will not be shipping any chairs until the 5th, they do, what they do every year, and I always forget this, but after Christmas is when they shut down sales. I mean, they’ll still take calls, and take orders, but Human Touch will not ship out any chairs until the end of the year, the first week after the New Year’s. So, January 5th, it is the date this year that they will ship out new chairs from Human Touch, but you can order them now, but you won’t get them shipped out until Monday. That’s typically how it works for them, and that shouldn’t be a surprise to me, but I continually forget every year.

[SCREEN TEXT: We Raised $11,700 in 2014 for Make-A-Wish!!]

Alan: Also, we had our Make-A Wish, I did a Make-A Wish tally, you know, our goal for Make-A Wish Foundation was $7500, and I set that goal a year ago, November. That was our first year, this has been our first year raising money, or donating funds, for the Make-A Wish Foundation, and every chair, and I’ve mentioned this time and time again, but every chair that we sell through Massage-Chair-Relief, we donate a portion of that chair proceeds to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. They go toward fulfilling the dream, the wish or dream of a child that has a life-threatening diseases, and/or disease or diseases. Our goal was $7500, and we just eclipsed $11,700, as of the end of the, well, halfway through the day on the 31st of December. So, we actually raised quite a bit more money than what we’d anticipated, and I’m very, very happy about that. I’d like to thank those of you who have donated, those of you who have purchased chairs from us, we have helped grant wishes to at least two children this year, this last year in 2014, and I’m very, very grateful for that, and of course, the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s very grateful. I think I mentioned last time I got a little picture, a drawing from a child, thanking me for our contribution to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and that’s all I need. I just need to know that a kid is grateful and happy, and their dream and wish has been fulfilled, and that makes me happy, but thank you again for contributing. I think next year, or this year now, 2015, we’ll probably up that goal to $13,000. If we did $11,700 last year, I know we can do better this year. So, let’s see if we can get up to $13,000, and who knows, maybe in the next year we’ll do $15,000, and that is remarkable. So, I just wanted to brag about that, not for me, but for my customers, and for the people that have made this business what it is today, thank you, thank you, thank you, that’s all I have to say about that.

[SCREEN TEXT: Retractable Ottoman Article]

Alan: Then, the only other thing I really have to mention is that I wrote, I already said that I wrote a review on the Titan 8400, it’s about a 1500-word review, and it’s on my blog, you can read about that, and I also posted an article about retractable ottomans. Now, retractable ottomans are those ottomans that hide under the seats of the chairs. Human Touch is notorious for incorporating retractable ottomans, the Osaki OS-Pro Intelligent has a retractable ottoman, and I think these are cool features. It makes for a better looking chair, you know, it doesn’t look so much like a massage chair. It also saves a little space because the ottoman is not sticking out a foot and a half, and it can be retracted under. There are some drawbacks to it as well, like being unable to extend the ottoman out and back like you can on the more traditional ottomans, so there are some limitations for size of people, of the size of the user using the ottoman, or the chair, but go ahead and read that article. You’ll also notice on our Facebook page that we are posting, I’m having a writer post health, overall health articles on that, on our Facebook page. The massage chair stuff is good, and that’s what I specialize in, but I think a lot of people find that kind of boring if they’re following my Facebook page. Maybe they don’t want to hear about retractable ottomans, or they don’t want to hear about, you know, whatever new video I’ve got up on the Internet, or whatever. Maybe they’d like, they’re more interested in health, the latest news in health business, or not business, but health, the health field. So, we have got a writer that posts little abstracts, and commentaries, and whatnot, on our Facebook page to give you more information about health, aside from just massage chairs. It’s usually stuff about stress, or neck pain, or back pain, things that massage chairs can deal with, and address, and provide relief for, but go in to depth a little bit more about those topics. So, if you do suffer from back or neck pain, and you are buying, or looking for a massage chair because of those symptoms, here’s some additional information that might help you deal with your pain, or deal with the consequences of this pain. So, anyway, well, that’s about it for this month, you know, I’m thankful I haven’t started coughing yet, or for this week, I’m glad I haven’t started coughing yet, or haven’t completely lost my voice. It’s a new year, thank you for, you know, watching my video, I hope you found it helpful. If you found it helpful, please ‘Like’ it, you know, thumbs up ‘Like’ it here on YouTube, or share it on your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus properties, whatever it is, we just help, appreciate you helping us spread the word about massage chairs. We’ve got some new things coming up this year that we’re quite excited about, and we’ll keep you posted about that, as things come to light, and as new models are brought to market, we will let you know about those. If we hear any news about the industry, you know, a lot of times, this massage chair industry update is the first point of contact for these massage chair companies to let me know about things, and I will, of course, share that with you, but that is it. I am Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com,’ and I will see you again in two weeks. Bye bye.
