Transcript of Video Titled “Massage Chair Industry Update – February 26, 2014”
Alan: Well, hello, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com’ and today is our biweekly massage chair industry update. The date today is February 26th, 2014, and we don’t have a lot to report in the way of stock.
[SCREEN TEXT: Stock Status]
Alan: Everything seems to be in pretty good stock right now. The OS-4000 only had ‘Black’ in stock, but apparently they’re getting a shipment of all the other colors this week, and Monday, between, either the rest of this week, or early Monday. So, it looks like stock’s pretty good on any chair that you’re looking for.
[SCREEN TEXT: iRobotics 6S on Bio & History Channels Feb. 27, 2014]
Alan: I thought you might be interested to know that Luraco, and their iRobotics 6S, are going to be on the History and the Bio Channel, tomorrow, the 27th, at 6 o’clock, and 7 o’clock, respectively. Now, apparently some tech guru from those channels is going to be discussing the iRobotics 6. So, I think it’d be great to watch that, I’m curious to see, you know, how it plays out, and see what they have to say about that chair, which is a nice chair. If you’ll remember, that’s the chair that’s – the frame, and the rollers, and the motors, are made in China, but all the electrical components are made here – manufactured here, in Arlington, Texas, in the United States. So, they’ve got a great, great company, good support, they’ve been in aerospace and health, spa type industries, currently, in the past, and currently, and they’ve added this division to their company. They kind of take the same attitude with the massage chairs as they do with all their other – defense contracts, and spa equipment, and whatnot, they – a lot of care and attention go in to it, a lot of engineering, and it’s a great company, I really enjoy it, and I went there last year. You can watch the videos here on YouTube, but I went there last year, and visited with them, and videotaped some of their manufacturing processes, and their warehouse, and their showroom, and had a wonderful time, good people, top notch, smart engineers who kind of take care of all the customer support issues for their company, and a really, really good company. Anyway, they’re going to be on TV, and their chair’s going to be highlighted, tomorrow, the 27th, at 6 on the History Channel, and 7 on the Bio Channel, and that’s their iRobotics 6S chair.
[SCREEN TEXT: Panasonic EP30005 Discontinued]
Alan: OK, I mentioned that Panasonic discontinued the 30005. There’s stock in, but it’s all been spoken for by different companies, and that stock is gone, when that stock is gone, that chair will not be imported anymore in to the United States. So, the 30007 and the MA70 are the two primary chairs that we carry now. There’s also the Urban 1285, but you know, I don’t sell many of those chairs. It’s a lower cost chair, but it doesn’t have the feature set that the MA70 or the 30007 has. So, those are your chairs of choice, in my humble opinion, if you’re looking at a Panasonic.
[SCREEN TEXT: Make-A-Wish Foundation Update!]
Alan: Also, our Make-A-Wish Foundation, now – for those of you that aren’t aware – we are donating a portion of every chair sale to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. You can see our Make-A-Wish page, on our website, with a link to the Make-A-Wish Foundation page for us, where we have set a goal of $7500 to earn in the first year. We started November 1st 2013, and we’re already up to, let’s see, we’re up to $4375, so we’re at 55% of our goal, and it’s only February, the tail end of February. So, I’m very, very, very, very pleased with that, and the young gal that we’ve been raising money for, Samantha, if you go on our blog and search, you’ll see pictures of her with her family, and the patio deck that they got.
[SCREEN TEXT: www.Massage-Chair-Relief.com/Make-A-Wish.html]
Alan: They wanted a patio deck for her, where she could go out and sit in her wheelchair and enjoy nature in the shade, and just a dear, and you might want to take a look at our page, or on our article library / blog to see, you know, the pictures of Samantha, and get the update. We’re still continuing, every sale that we make to you, on our Massage-Chair-Relief website, or in our showroom store, a portion goes to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I’m very, very excited about it, and I’m very thankful for those who have purchased chairs, and allowed us to contribute. If you want to contribute above and beyond what we contribute for each chair, you can always go to our page, and still contribute. You don’t have to buy a chair, you don’t have to, you know, be associated with our business at all, if you just want to donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, please do through our page. We would welcome you to do that, and we would really appreciate it.
[SCREEN TEXT: New Video Series: ‘The Massage Chair Dictionary’]
Alan: OK, let’s see what else is cooking, oh, I’ve got my new video series up, a playlist on our YouTube channel, called ‘The Massage Chair Dictionary.’ Now, there are so many terms in the massage chair industry that we use every day, in the industry, without thinking that someone else might kind of go ‘Duh,’ when we bring up those terms, and not really know what we’re talking about. For example, what does zero gravity really mean, what is a retractable ottoman, what are quad rollers, what is 3D roller technology, what are mechanical foot rollers, you know, the list goes on and on, and so we have created videos, and we’ll be posting them every week now. We’ve got two videos up already, but that’ll be on our YouTube channel, and you can access that if you have any questions about any of these terms. Hopefully it’ll help you understand a little bit more about what it is that you’re reading, when you study about massage chairs, and as you contemplate which model to get, and knowing which features each model has. So, go to the YouTube, our YouTube channel, and you’ll be able to see the playlist, it’s called ‘The Massage Chair Dictionary.’ So, they’re short videos, we basically just explain visually, and verbally, what these terms mean, and each video represents a different term.
OK, also, I put out another video, and I may have mentioned this on our last massage chair industry update, but I put – OK, I don’t know if you realize this, but we have written, I have written over 600 articles on massage chair topics, whether it’s talk about warranty, talk about the buzz in the business, talking about answering questions I got from email customers, whether it’s reviews of chairs, or whatever – I have over 600 articles, and I also have over 200 videos, at the time of this recording. So, a lot of people want to know ‘How do I access this,’ or ‘How do I find information out about this, that, or the other,’ and a lot of them email me about it, and I’ll just link them to an article that I have in my article library, or a video on the YouTube channel. So anyway, since so many people are asking about this stuff like this, and it is on my website, but they haven’t been able to find it – I thought ‘Well, maybe I need to teach people, and show them how to find information, on our websites,’ for your – when you’re doing your research, and your due diligence, so watch the video. I think it’s something along the lines of ‘Massage-Chair-Relief’s Article Database Tutorial,’ or something like that, but it’s an on-screen, computer tutorial, with me talking, describing, and pointing with the mouse, where to go to access all this information, and it’s pretty easy. You can go on the homepage, down below the fold, there’s a place where you can type in any term, any massage chair model, any, anything, about massage chairs, and it’ll bring up all the articles I’ve written, or any article that I’ve written that has, that alludes to that particular term, or that subject. You can also go on our article library, on the right-hand side at the top, there’s a search field there, but you can also go to any product page on our website, and there’s four tabs underneath the ‘Add to Cart’ button, one is ‘Overview,’ one is ‘Features,’ one is ‘Articles,’ and one is ‘Specifications,’ and if you click the ‘Articles’ tab, you’re going to see a list of all the articles that I have written about that allude to that product, of which page you’re on, that allude to that product. You can start reading and learning all about that product, and what my opinion is on it, and what my review is about it, what the scuttlebutt is in the industry about it, but it’s a good little video, so take a look at that video to help you understand exactly what I just explained, which is how to find these articles.
Also, let’s see, oh, I wrote another ‘Mail Bag’ recently, or some you know, I wrote down the emails that I receive from people, from customers like you, and my responses, and one that asked about, recently I wrote about one that asked about, you know – ‘Why is it that the Sogno is such a great chair,’ you know, why is – everybody that does any research, any massage chair research, knows that the Inada Sogno is a very highly respected and reputable chair. It may not be the right chair for everybody, but it is most likely, and within, you know, arguably, the best massage chair out there. Well, why is it, what makes it so good, and I answer that question to one of my readers, and you can take a look at that, and I answer some other questions, like comparing the Iyashi to the IT-8500, what chair is best for a guy that has a 50-inch chest, and he’s a weight lifter, so I get a lot of questions like that, the ‘Mail Bag’ addresses that.
[SCREEN TEXT: 2-Part Review of Sogno vs. Iyashi]
Alan: I also wrote a two-part review comparing the Inada Sogno to the Infinity Iyashi, I wrote that about a week and a half ago. You can read those reviews, there’s two parts, and I basically talk about the differences between the chairs. They’re really not at all alike, they’re very different, but since they’re very popular, a lot of people ask me the differences, and so I figured what the heck, I may as well write a review about the two, a comparative review, that’s on the website. Feel free to watch that, or read that, and glean whatever information you can out of that in helping to make your decision, both good chairs, but both very different.
[SCREEN TEXT: 2-Month Old Sogno for Sale!]
Alan: I still have a used Sogno for sale, I have a ‘Crème’ colored Inada Sogno for $7199. If you’re in Utah here, and I don’t have to ship it, it’ll be $6999, but it’s a ‘Crème’ colored Sogno, two months old, perfect condition, no problems with it. The people that had it, it was purchased as a Christmas gift for a wife who didn’t want it, it was sent back, within a month of them receiving it, it was already packed up and shipped back. So, it’s not like this thing’s been sat on a whole bunch, it’s brand new, and it’s, you know, almost $1000 less than what the retail price is, and it’s ‘Crème’ colored one. The warranty’s good, you can transfer the warranty, whatnot, good chair, and a good deal. So, I thought you might like to know about that. Well, that is about it for this week, I think I’ve covered everything I wanted to talk about. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me, call me, or make a comment on our YouTube channel here, so on this page. I’d be happy to answer any of your questions. I love helping people answer questions about massage chairs as they try to make their decisions about which chair is right for them. I’m always available, and you know, this may not always be the case, but I try to answer every call that comes through from customers, before and after the sale. So, some people find that hard to believe, but then they’ll catch me on a Saturday evening, and you know, I’ll say ‘Hello, Massage-Chair-Relief, this is Dr. Weidner,’ and then there’ll be a pause, and then somebody will say ‘Wow, you really do answer your phone calls.’ You know, I try to, and now, that may not always be the case, we’re getting busier and busier, and the plate is getting more and more full, but I try to answer the calls, and if I can’t get to the call, then you know, I will get back to you as soon as I can. Anyway, feel free to contact us anytime.
If you found this video helpful at all, please feel free to ‘Like’ us, share us, tweet us, ‘+1’ us, whatever, whatever we do to help share, and spread the word about massage chairs, we’d appreciate it if you did that. So, anyway, we appreciate your spending time with me today, and hope you enjoy the rest of your day, we will see you again in two weeks.
