Transcript of Video Titled “Massage Chair Industry Update – August 11, 2016”

microphoneAlan: Well, hi, this is Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com’ and today is our biweekly massage chair industry update for August 11th, 2016. I hope you had a great couple of weeks, and I hope I can give you some information today that’ll be helpful to you.

[SCREEN TEXT: Stock Status]

Alan: As far as stock goes, I believe that the – oh, oh, what’s the chair, the one that’s back-ordered until the end of August, we have some orders on that, I can’t remember, I think it’s the, yeah, one of the – yeah, I think it’s the Executive, one of the colors of the Executive. Oh, for heaven’s sake, I shouldn’t have even said anything, I can’t remember what the one is, but most of the chairs are in stock. The ZeroG 5.0 is back-ordered until the end of August, and I think that’s pretty much all that I am aware of right now.

[SCREEN TEXT: Ogawa Promotion Ends 08/15/16]

Alan: Ogawa, it still has their promotion going on, where you have the free extended warranty for the Active and the Smart 3D, and a free foot massager, from Ogawa, for the Ogawa Refresh, if you purchase that. So, that ends on the 15th, which is next Monday, I believe, and so that’ll be off the website and off the table.

[SCREEN TEXT: New Models Coming from uKnead]

Alan: uKnead, the company that we just started carrying their chairs, we have the Lavita in our showrooms. I’ll be having some videos out on that soon enough, but they have announced some new models. One’s called the Symphony, one’s called the Nuage, and one’s called the Lagato, and these are – I don’t know much about them – I mean, I know the Symphony, I think, is the one that they’re going to use to replace their Adagio as their 3D L-track chair. And that’s one of the main things that interested me in the uKnead line, was that they have the 3D L-chairs, which is something we don’t have. I mean, our suppliers have them, like Infinity has them, but they only distribute them through Brookstone, and so we don’t have one that’s available to us. So, anyway, just so that you know about that, and I’ll get you more information about the uKnead chairs as it comes along.

[SCREEN TEXT: Pre-Owned Chair Directory Updated!]

Alan: The used chairs that we have available, we’ve updated our pre-owned, refurbished floor model database, which you can see on our website on the nav bar underneath the header of each page of the website, you’ll see a link for the pre-owned chairs. And we have an IT-8500 that came back, and all these chairs that have come back are just about a month old. They’re all one to two months old, at most, and the IT-8500 is a ‘Taupe’ colored one. I’ve got an iRobotics 7, I don’t have it on the website yet, but we have a ‘Black’ one coming back. I believe the price on that one’s going to be $6990, which is quite a bit less than the $8490 list price. The 8500, I believe we have that one on sale for $3295, which is $1000 off their MAP pricing, and we have a ‘Red’ DreamWave. The red is a color that’s often back-ordered, because it’s a popular color, but we have a red one that we have available, it’s only a month old. The fellow who used it, he had back surgery, and after the back surgery, the chair was irritating that area of his back. So, that chair came back to us, and that chair we’re selling for $6999, and it’s regularly $8799, so it’s, what is that, $1800 off? Just so that you know, but you can go to our website and see those chairs, except for that iRobotics 7. If you’re interested in the iRobotics 7, give me a call on our toll-free number, and that toll-free number is – oh, for heaven’s sake, I got to always move out of the way so you can see it – but there is the toll-free number, 888-259-5380, and call me any time, or myself, or any of the boys at the California showroom, and they’ll get you hooked up. And by the way, all those used chairs are in immaculate condition, they were hardly used, most of them were owned less than a month by the time they got to us, shipped back to us, including the original shipping, the chair is usually one to two months old. I mentioned to you that we have the Lavita in the showroom.

[SCREEN TEXT: Synchrony Bank Financing Specials]

Alan: Synchrony Bank is going to have another 18-month financing availability at the end of August, so if you want the 18 months, that is the time to do it. I don’t have the dates yet, I think it’s like – well, actually I might have it – it’s like the end of August to the 1st of September. It’s for the Labor Day weekend, and I thought I might also mention, you know, a lot of these stores have four-year, 0% interest financing.

[SCREEN TEXT: 3 & 4 Year Financing Now Available]

Alan: Now, we have that option available to us. We have three and four-year interest-free financing, with equal payments spread out over the three and four years. The problem is, is the processing fees are so high. So, for the four year, the processing fee, I think, is 14.15%, and the processing fees for the three years are, I think, 11 or 12%, so it’s very expensive for us to offer that. So, I’ll tell you what, we can offer you the three and four-year financing, but not on every chair, and it has to be when you’re paying full price for the chair, so you can’t come and expect to have a $700 discount, and then have the four-year financing. It’s just too expensive, we cannot afford to do that at all. As a matter of fact, that’s ludicrous to offer something like that. Until we have something come along that offers less than the 14%, and 12%, and whatnot, these are the only options we have, and when something comes along better, we will tell you about it. We’ve heard some other financing options available to us, that we’re looking in to now, mostly for the three, four-year financing. You can get it through us on most models, but there’s some models we can’t do it, because the profit margin is not high enough. So, anyway, just so that you know.

[SCREEN TEXT: New Article: L-Track: What’s The Big Deal?]

Alan: And then, finally, I wrote an article called ‘L-Track: What’s The Big Deal?’ You know, I get a lot of questions about l-track. People are fascinated by it, but they’re not really sure why it’s such a good feature, and what the big deal is about l-track, and I talk about it in this article. I talk about how the rollers go under the butt, and massage muscles that typically don’t get addressed by a massage chair. Airbags can’t massage the glutes, and the piriformis muscles, or the hamstrings, for that matter. And now, with this uKnead Lavita, it actually massages – on me, anyway, and I’m about 5′ 9″ – it massages the belly of my hamstring, which is unique, because all the other ones kind of massage the insertion point of the hamstring in to the pelvic area. So, the L-track is kind of a big deal, I like it, and I’m a big fan of L-track, I love it, as a matter of fact, and we have a few chairs that carry it, or that have the L-track. We have the Iyashi, which is the granddaddy of L-tracks, that’s a good chair. We have the Alpine, which has been a real faithful, and consistent seller. We have the Ultra, the Apex Ultra. We have the Titan 8400, the Titan 8500, we have the Osaki 4000LS, and more and more are coming out. We have the Ogawa Active, which is a shorter L-track, but it is considered an L-track, and we have the Infinity Escape, and now we have the uKnead Lavita, and soon, the uKnead Symphony. So, there’s lots of options for this L-track, but if you want to read the article, I think, you know, I’m tooting my own horn here, but I think it’s a good article, so check it out, and see what you think of that. If you have any questions, call me, you know the number, ah, anyway, forget it. Alright, and I think that’s just about it for this week. So, if you have any questions, reach out to me through any of our social media platforms, or through the website itself. We have a chat function there that we’re having manned by the staff at the Southern California showroom, so they can answer your chats for you if I’m not available, and of course, you can call me any time. I’m always available, love to visit with you, and if you found this video helpful, please feel free to thumbs up ‘Like’ us on YouTube, share us on your Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, Twitter, social media platforms. We appreciate you helping us spread the word about massage chairs. Well, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com,’ and I will see you again in two weeks. Bye bye.
