dictionaryAlan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com’ and today we’re going to define the term roller track, as it applies to massage chairs, for our Massage Chair Dictionary video series. Now, every massage chair has a roller track, and the track basically means, what the track basically is, is a track that the quad rollers follow to go from the top of your spine down to the bottom of your spine. So, it is a track that they follow, think of a train track, the train rides on a track from point A to point B, the quad rollers of a massage chair go from point A to point B, in your spine, following a track. So, let’s take a look at the Infinity IT-8500 to get an idea for it. These are the rollers, we talked about the quad rollers, we have a couple of other videos that talked about the quad rollers, four rollers.

Alan: They on a couple of spindle axes that roll down this track. You can see, as we zoom in, this will follow along, the rollers will follow along that track all the way down, and then all the way back up again. Now, the track usually follows – even though this track is straight, the track, the use of the rollers, the roller mechanism, and the track together, create what they call an S-track, an S-track pattern, or S-track distribution – of the rollers, which means that the rollers will follow the shape of the spine, which is in the shape of an S. Your spine is not straight, your spine has shape to it, a forward curve in the neck, a reverse curve in the mid back, a forward curve in the low back, and then your butt section goes back again. So, that’s the S-curve, or the sinusoidal shape of the spine, and the track will follow that shape, the rollers on that track, will follow that shape, so now you understand what the roller track really means.

Alan: Check out our other videos to understand what quad rollers mean, and what the S-track means, and then of course, the L-track, which is a relatively new term in the industry now that they have roller tracks that extend down in to the buttock, and toward the hamstrings. That’s the roller track of the typical modern-day massage chair. I hope you found this video helpful.
