Make-A-Wish and Massage Chair Relief!

MAW Blue Stacked TransparentI am so proud to announce that Massage Chair Relief has begun a relationship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help fund the wishes of as many Wish Kids as we possibly can.

We are donating a portion of every massage chair sale to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, beginning November 1st, 2013. Our donations will be put toward one Wish Child at a time. When one child’s wish is granted, another will take his or her place and we will continue with this program perpetually so that from this point on, a portion of each chair will go towards granting a child’s wish.

For those of you unfamiliar with Make-A-Wish, “The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a 501 non-profit organization founded in the United States that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Make-A-Wish_Foundation).

They were founded in 1980 and have been granting wishes to these precious children for over 30 years. I first became involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation about 8 years ago when my chiropractic practice sponsored a Wish Child. She went to Disney World for her wish and came back a changed person, according to her mother. Make-A-Wish arranged for the mom and child to come to my clinic where we could meet her. The little gal was so excited, laughing and trying to communicate with us from her wheelchair. It was great. But what was most interesting was that before Disney World, the little girl never laughed, never communicated, and, for the most part, just sat in her wheel chair without making any expressions or attempts to communicate. But, after Disney World she came out of her shell and became a whole different person.

I knew then that this program made a difference in the lives of the kids who get their wishes granted. Our Wish Child today is Samantha and she wants to have a backyard play place for her wish. We are going to help her get that wish! You can read more about our Wish Child at the following link:

Even if you decide not to buy a massage chair from Massage Chair Relief, I would ask that you go to the link above and make a donation for our Wish Child, if you feel so inclined. Any amount is appreciated. Currently our annual goal is $7500. As of this writing, we are at $375. We began donating on November 1, 2013.  Hopefully next year we can raise our annual goal to $10,000, which is an amount that would fund 2-4 Wish Kids.

Thanks so much for your time and attention.
