Alan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com‘ and today we’re going to talk about the Inada YuMe massage chair, and we’re going to demonstrate the rocking function of the chair. Two features that are very unique in the YuMe that we’ve not seen before in other chairs is number one, the Thera-Eliptical-Kneading of the calves – and we’ve done another video about that, and you can learn about that watching that video – the second feature is the rocking feature, the chair actually rocks back and forth. It’s a very soothing feeling, and I’m going to demonstrate it now. If you look at the chair, you’ll see – and all I’m doing is turning on the rocking feature, I’m not turning on any of the other massage features – but you’ll see that the chair rocks back and forth. Now imagine that you’re getting this rocking feature working while you’re having your back massaged and your calves massaged and the seat’s being massaged by the airbags, but this rocking can be very, very soothing.

Alan: I had one customer come in to the showroom and express the feeling that it felt like – it kind of brought him back to his childhood, it reminded him of his grandmother who used to rock him in a rocking chair when he was a boy – and it was very, very soothing to him. I wonder if there’s maybe a psychological component to the rocking motion as well for that very reason. The rocking, if you’ll notice, the Inada YuMe is not a zero-gravity chair per say, zero gravity is not a boasted feature on this chair. Zero gravity is the seat tilting up at a 30-degree angle, with the chair and the seat articulating at this sort of a degree, at this sort of an angle. You’ll notice that the chair, when it comes upright, is at about a 5 or a 10-degree tilt, and then when it rocks back a true zero-gravity position is hit, so it’s at about a 30-degree tilt. So, it does momentarily hit the zero-gravity position when it reclines, when the rock is going back. When the rock comes up, when the rocking is upright, it goes to about a 10-degree tilt to the seat.

Alan: You’re actually getting kind of a built in zero-gravity function, even though it’s not touted as a zero-gravity chair. This is the rock feature, or the rocking feature, of the Inada YuMe massage chair, a great chair from Inada, another innovation from the company known as Inada, and I really like this feature. I might mention that if you are prone to motion sickness at all, you might feel a little nauseous the first time you sit in it. I did the first time I sat in it, but the second time I didn’t feel anything at all. So, just the very first time, you might sense a little bit of that, but it’s nothing that’s going to be a permanent – or nothing that’s going to deter you in future sessions on the chair – because you will notice that that feeling will go away promptly. I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘Massage-Chair-Relief.com’ and we’ve talked about the Inada YuMe today, and the rocking feature.
