Alan: Hi, this is Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘‘ and today we’re going to talk about the HT-7120 ottoman, or foot, or calf massager. A couple of things I want to point out with the ottoman, if you’ll look down here, you’ll see that it’s only a calf massage, there’s no foot massage on the Human Touch HT-7120. One of the reasons why it does not have the foot massage on there is so that they can have this rotation feature on the ottoman to bring the ottoman around so it makes it look like a normal, more regular type of recliner, and that is kind of a nice feature to have. Now, how do you bring the ottoman up? There’s a lever on the side here – and we’ll swivel the chair around so you can see that – there’s a brown, wooden lever on the side. If you hold that lever up, it’ll bring the ottoman up all the way, and then, of course, you can push it down.

Alan: There’s two ways, actually, to make it go down. You can push it down with the lever or you can press, on the remote control, you can press the ‘Restore’ button, which is right here, and you’ll see after I push that, then the ottoman goes down again. Another way that you can bring the ottoman up – there’s no button on the remote that says ‘Ottoman,’ you know, ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ – you have to do it with the lever on the right-hand side. However, another way that you can bring this up automatically is to use the button for the ‘Stretch’ program, which is here, and if you push that button, you’ll see – and you hold it down, you’ll see that the chair back goes back and the ottoman goes up. And if you let go of the ‘Stretch’ button, before the ‘Stretch’ program kicks in, you can have the ottoman up using the remote control, you don’t have to use the lever on the side. And then, of course, you can push the ‘Restore’ button, it’ll bring everything back to neutral, bring the ottoman down. What I’m going to do is I’m going to bring the ottoman up again, we’ll use the ‘Stretch’ button this time, and I’m going to turn the airbags on, on the calves, so you can see how they function.

Alan: And now you’ll see the airbags are compressing the calves. You see, this is how it works, it’ll inflate bottom to the top, and the idea of that is to enhance circulation back toward the heart. So, it inflates on the bottom and then on the top in kind of a milking motion. Now, you’ll see here, there is a set of lights, and a ‘+’ sign and a ‘–’ sign. That is the button that you use to adjust the intensity of the airbag, to make it more, a little tighter or a little looser. Here, we have it on the ‘+’ side, which means a little more open. And then here, we can press the ‘–’ sign, and then you should see the lights, see the lights now start to retract and the lights will go down, there you go, less and less, and that means that the space between where the calf is, is getting tighter and tighter.

Alan: So, if you’ve got a thin leg, and you want a more intense massage, or if you’ve got a large calf, and you want a more intense massage, you can push the ‘–’ sign, and it’ll bring the airbags closer together, thus a more intense compression. If you want, if it’s too intense, and I’ll tell you, when I had a chair like this in my chiropractic clinic, the one feature that bothered people the most was the calf massage. People’s calves were very, very sensitive, and some people couldn’t handle it. And that’s one of the reasons why Human Touch introduced the adjustable width, so that people that are sensitive to the calf massage can adjust that width, and if you open up that thing a little bit more, it’ll be less intense, and it’ll be more comfortable for the user. But that, in a nutshell, is the ottoman of the HT-7120 by Human Touch. Thanks for visiting today.
