Everyone is on social media these days, and sometimes it can make you feel stressed out. If you think about it, how many times have you scrolled through your newsfeed and read posts about people’s problems, or emotional stories, that in turn have an affect on how you feel?

This article explains how some studies show that constantly reading about stress on social media, can actually put stress on you as well. But you shouldn’t let social media stress you out. This article provides a few tips on being careful and proactive about your use of social media in order to reduce and avoid stress.

Some of the tips include being selective about the people you follow, limiting what you read, and remembering that emotions are contagious! If you watch that video someone posted that says “This made me cry”, chances are it will probably make you cry too! Social media is like being at a party – if you choose to spend your time around stressed people, you’ll feel stressed.
