Lower back pain is a very common health complaint, resulting in disability and suffering. An analysis of studies looking at the causes of the pain was done to analyze whether MRI findings change over the course of a year in patients with sciatica or low back pain. Overall, it was found that there is moderate evidence that nerve compression and disc herniation, causes of low back pain, disappeared or were reduced in size over the course of one year.
