Divorce May Increase Risk of Heart Attack

According to a new study, women who have been divorced may be at significantly higher risk of heart attack than those who are continuously married. “Divorce is a major life stressor that can have economic, emotional, and physical health consequences,” the authors of the study noted.

They also said however, that it is unclear how the incidence of divorce over a lifetime may influence the risk of heart attack, or acute myocardial infarction.
