Often times when filling out a medical questionnaire, they ask if anyone in your family has a history of various disorders, including depression. But is depression genetic? Even with modern genome-wide analysis techniques, it has still been proven difficult to identify genetic factors affecting risk for depression. So far, there has been limited success in identifying genetic factors in depression.
