DEA Puts Quota on Production of Opioid Painkillers

Opioid addiction is a serious concern in the United States today. Not only does it destroy thousands of lives and end in tragic death, it also harms the healthcare sectors of the economy. Putting quotas and limits to just how much can actually be produced insures that less product is available on the open market. Combine this with lessening the importance of medication in pain management and the DEA and CDC hope to bring down addiction numbers from their record high.
