Could Sugar Be a Stress Reliever?

Researchers have discovered that sugar reduces levels of cortisol, which is the hormone that causes stress. The scientists studied 19 female volunteers and for 12 days, had 8 of them consume beverages sweetened with aspartame, an artificial sweetener. The rest drank beverages made with regular table sugar.
