Novo XTAlan: Hi, I’m Dr. Alan Weidner from ‘‘ and today I’m going to demonstrate to you how the calf-and-foot airbags work on the Novo XT massage chair from Human Touch. Now, as I mentioned to you earlier, on other videos, the airbags usually inflate sequentially. When you turn on airbags, they don’t all inflate at the same time. One will inflate, and then it’ll deflate. Then, the other one will inflate, and it’ll deflate. It’s the same way with the feet and the calves. So, you’re going to have the feet inflate first – and remember, on a previous video, or another video, I talked about the rollers on the bottom of the feet – and you got rollers on the back of the heel, under the soles of the feet, and in the front, under the balls of the feet. And you’ll see here that the airbags are inflating, but what’s interesting about the way the airbags are inflating – watch my hand in there – you see how it’s moving my hand from side to side? That’s what those airbags will do to your feet, while the rollers are on. So, you’re actually getting kind of a dual therapy. You’re getting the rollers working underneath the feet, but then you’re getting the airbags pushing the feet, pushing your feet across the rollers, so you’re getting this shearing motion as well, and this happens on both feet simultaneously.

Alan: And the also, the intensity of the airbags can affect how hard the foot is getting pushed on to the rollers. So, you may want to decrease the intensity of the airbags, because they may be pushing too hard on your feet, on to the rollers, glad I got that figured out. Now, you’ll notice now that the calves have inflated. Now, the calves will inflate – when your legs are in here, it kind wraps around your calves, and inflates – and then in the back of the calves, there are these little knobules. I don’t know if you can see the knobule there between my fingers, but there’s knobules that go up and down the length of the calves, and when this is inflated, on the calves, then there will be an airbag that inflates at the back of those knobules, and pushes them in to the back of the calves. So, it’s not, you’re not getting a mechanical – oh, see, now, did you see how it just inflated – now it’s completely compressed, from the back and the sides. Now, it’s hard to imagine you’ve got a calf in there, because you’d think you’d have to have a pretty thin calf. I’ve got large calves, and the airbags will adjust to the width of the calves that are in there. But what you’re getting now is you’re getting the effect of airbags inflating on the calves, the airbags moving these knobules at the back of the calves, in to the calf muscle, and it creates a really strong, a really nice calf massage.

Alan: A lot of massage chairs don’t have the posterior aspect of the knobules inflating in to the calves, usually it’s just airbags, and maybe a couple of knobules back there, but nothing really moving those knobules in to the calves. The one actually inflates around the calves, and moves the knobules forward. And then again on the feet, the airbags move the feet across the rollers, to create a shearing motion while the rollers are still rolling underneath the heel, sole, and balls of the feet. But that’s how the foot airbags work on the Novo XT from Human Touch. If you found the video helpful, please feel free to thumbs up ‘Like’ us on our YouTube channel.
