Another Osaki OS-7000 vs. OS-7200H Question!

Whew…I am sure getting a lot of inquiries about which chair would be better, the Osaki OS-7000 or the Osaki OS-7200H. Here is a letter from a shopper not sure which model to get…

Question:

I’ve done my research on massage chairs and I think I have it narrowed down to Osaki 7200H and Osaki 7000 and i was wondering if you could help me decide which would be best for me. My main area that I want massaged is head/neck/shoulder blades. I was involved in an accident a few years back and suffered whiplash and have had problems ever since with headaches and tightness and pain in that region. So I was just wondering which you would think to be best for me. Im 5’11” and weigh 195 if that helps. Thanks! Ross

My Response:

Hi, Ross

Thanks for your email. I am so glad that you are deciding to get a massage chair. You will love it!! You will fit in either model at your height and weight, no problem.

Osaki OS-7000

The Osaki OS-7000 chair is, by far, the most aggressive of the massage chairs that we carry, however, I have found it to not be the most “specific” massage when it comes to the rollers in the upper back and neck. As a matter of fact, I recently wrote an article on my blog about the differences between the OS-7000 and the OS-7200H as it relates to a massage between the shoulder blades. Here is a link to the article. This should explain some things to you:

I would say that the same issues apply to the neck. The OS-7200H just has a smaller roller contact on the back thus facilitating a more specific-feeling massage…it just seems to hit the muscles of the neck and upper back a little bit more specific. You can also lift the back pad of the 7200H up and over the back of the chair to get an even more intense massage on the 7200H…and it is already pretty vigorous as it is without even doing that.

Now, here are a couple of other things to consider when comparing these two chairs:

Osaki 6000 Massage Chair

1. The OS-7000 has the headband airbags mechanism. This is a fairly new and innovative feature. It is a headband that you put on your head and it has airbags that inflate around your skull as well as two nodules that press against the muscles at the base of your skull. Pretty cool, really.

2. The Osaki OS-7200H has a head piece that has airbags, ala the Inada Sogno Dreamwave chair. The airbags press down on your trapezia muscles at the top of your shoulders, as well as airbags that push against your neck muscles. So, basically, you have the option on the OS-7200H to have the chair’s roller system massage your neck or you can use the headpiece airbags for the same purpose.

I hope I haven’t confused even more. I really like the 7200H and use it more often in my showroom than the 7000. But, for folks that love the intense massage the the 7000 is the best one. You cannot really adjust the intensity of the 7000, whereas the 7200H has an intensity adjustment button on the remote control.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance to you. You can email me or call me at 801-651-2026 with any further questions.
