If you’re one of the many people who experience back pain, pay attention to this study that an acupuncturist spent a decade studying. The acupuncturist actually studied different cultures with low rates of back pain and this is what she learned. She says that most Americans suffer from neck or back pain at some point in their lives. That’s why she explains these 5 exercises to relieve back pain.

First is rolling your shoulders, since most of us favor a scrunched-forward position with their soldiers, it’s important to roll your shoulders around as an exercise. Next is lengthening your spine, without arching your back, and while taking deep breaths.

It may sound odd but squeezing your glutes when you walk can also help with spinal support and posture. “The gluteus medius is the one you’re after here. It’s the one high up on your bum,” Gokhale says. The remaining exercises include resisting keeping your chin up and even not sitting up straight!
