With the holiday season upon us, many people experience stress with the pressures of family, friends, work and other activities. Chair massage is a fast and affordable way to help reduce stress and keep you in the holiday mood. The anxiety associated with finding the perfect gift, planning the right party or dinner, and traveling to or from family get-togethers can create tension in your muscles, making the holidays less enjoyable. Taking time for a chair massage can release tension, improve mood, reduce aches and help improve your stamina for the holiday season.

Trying to schedule an appointment with a massage therapist during the holiday season can be near impossible between errands, baking, presents to buy and limited time to accomplish it all. However, 15 minutes with a massage chair can provide the physical and emotional boost your body needs while fitting into you budget and time constraints.

Massage chairs focus on the back to help remove muscle kinks and improve the body’s circulation. Also, chair massage has been shown to help the immune system, providing a boost to help fight off winter cold and flu season.

Natural Pain Management

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

With the increase of stress in today’s society it really isn’t a surprise we have seen such an increase in the intake of fast food, trans fatty acids, preservatives, and sugar. We are bombarded with hormones in meats and dairy products and artificial sugars in our food. With all the changes in diets should we really be surprised at the overload of our immune systems leading to side effects such as constant pain.

The pain you experience is simply a signal to your brain that somewhere your body is not functioning at top efficiency. Perhaps due to injury, disease, or even strain on the tissues. Without pain, you wouldn’t know something was wrong, or that treatment is necessary.

Fortunately several options are available to treat chronic (persistent) pain without the use of medications, whether over-the-counter or prescribed.

A change of diet while increasing our intake of essential vitamins, minerals and herbs can help to reduce the pain we experience. Sometimes the pain is caused by a simple deficiency of one of these in an area of the body.

Increasing the amount of exercise and sleep you get can help to improve your immune system, as well as providing your body time to repair itself.

Chair massage on a regular basis can help to relieve stress and strain on muscles and tissues, as well as increase blood flow to deliver healing nutrients to tissue.

Massage Benefits and Types of Massage

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Massage is a therapeutic method which has been used for thousands of years for the healing of illnesses. More recently it has been used to help prevent and protect against injuries in athletes and athletic individuals. Massage also has an important role in naturopathy.

Chair massage has many benefits. It helps overcome fatigue and muscle pains, helps aid in good sleep and promotes the elimination of toxins from the body. Methods of Physical Therapy for Frozen Shoulder

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Frozen shoulder is a condition of pain and stiffness in the shoulder joint, oft times accompanied with a loss of motion. Inflammation around the shoulder may trigger this normal response to stiffness, making the shoulder stiff and even painful to move. This can limit the person’s ability to reach above or over the head, or even reach to touch the back.

While many things can cause frozen shoulder, 90 percent of patients experience a full recovery when they use physical therapy methods for treatment.

Physical therapy for frozen shoulder begins with reducing pain and stiffness of the joint, while increasing blood circulation. Use of heating pads, wraps or towels, as well as heat creams and ointments can help to increase blood flow to the area, delivering healing nutrients.

Stretching exercises can also help relieve tension built up in the joint. These exercises should be done once or twice daily to help increase the range of movement, essentially getting the body back to its normal condition.

Another good way to treat the frozen shoulder would be through massage. This helps to increase the flow of blood, delivering oxygen and nutrients into the area. A chair massage can provide both heat and massage to the shoulder, providing two treatments simultaneously.
