Keep Your Memory Sharp

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

One of the theories behind staving off memory related illnesses and problems is to actively keep your memory sharp. One of the ways often recommended is to do brain teaser type puzzles such as sudoku or crosswords puzzles. However, if these don’t appear to interest you, there are other ways you can keep your brain active and your memory keen. For instance playing board games or learning a musical instrument. Additionally eating foods that are rich in antioxidants and cooking with olive oil will help as well.

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

A lot of people use soy in their daily diets as a source of protein, but researchers have been looking at other uses for the nutrient.  One of the uses they are looking at is to use in place of hormone replacement therapy for women going through menopause. The results are preliminary at this point, but they show signs that after 12 weeks of soy injestion women have fewer symptoms, such as hot flashes. Whether this has something to do with the soy specifically, or rather the overall inclusion of a healthy diet of the participants still remains to be seen. Before you stock up on soy supplements, it was shown that the supplemental variety was not as effective as the inclusion of soy in the diet.

To many of us cocaine is a powerful pain killer that is very addictive and has caused the downfall of many celebrities. For example popular artists such as Amy Winehouse have shown to us the devastation that drugs can cause to our life. But before this in 1880 cocaine was just a derivative of the coca plant. The coca plant was a sort of wonder drug. It was believed all the illness known to mankind can be cured by the coca plant. As a result of the popularity of the drug in the 1890’s many products contain extracts from the coca plant. For instance the popular drink Coca-Cola in the 1890 does contain some of the plants extracts note its name Coca-Cola. Fear not todays Coca-Cola has no contents from the plant. Put On Your Best Movie And Pop The Popcorn

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

One of the most common dates couples attend is a dinner and a movie. Can you picture it now? You’ve finally mustered the courage to ask out the prettiest girl in school. She look at you smile sweetly then move a strand of blond hair out of her eyes and said sure I’ll come with you to the movies. Ah the movies a common American pastime everyday many people head to the movies. When we think of movies we often associate it with popcorn thanks to advertisement at movie theaters. Although popcorns are delicious be mindful how much butter and salt are in the popcorn. Too much popcorn may prove to be unhealthy. May I suggest when you make your own popcorn at home lessen the amount of salt and butter in the popcorn? As for the end of the date when that big moment comes up sorry your own your own for that one.

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

Unfortunately anger is a part of life. A lot of people can’t be happy all the time something within our busy day is bound to get us upset. While it’s common to get angry at certain things it’s not common to be angry all the time. If you’re angry all the time and are continuously having emotional outbursts you may be suffering from a lot of stress and may need anger management class. Some people would argue that its peoples fault that they’re angry. For instance a common statement of defense would be “I don’t need anger management people need to manage their stupidity.” While that statement is a little humorous does it have some truth to it? I think it does have some truth to it some people do stuff to intentionally get you angry and you can’t help but to get angry your human. But I still believe you got the main control, you can control your anger. Sometimes life will test your limits. Pass the test let life know your glass is half full not half empty.
