Massage Chair Shipping

Monday, November 15th, 2010

We are getting close to Christmas and holiday shopping (for some, it is already done…not at the Weidner home, though!). If you are considering getting a massage chair for someone for the holidays, make sure you budget time for shipping. As you may or may not know, massage chairs can take up to 10 days to get to where they are going. Each manufacturer will have different deadline times for shipping out their chairs to get to you by December 25th. Shipping times alsomassage chair shipping are affected by what part of the country you live in.

For example, since most of the chairs ship out of the west coast, if you live in the East your shipping time will take longer than if you live in Oregon. I will post a shipping deadline schedule for you in the weeks to come so that you can know what time frame you can expect.

Speaking of shipping, I must add a disclaimer to this blog post. Whenever a person orders a massage chair, 99.999% of the time the buyer is completely and utterly happy with their massage chair, the shopping experience, and the customer support from our store. There is only ONE thing that folks are not happy with ALL the time…and that is shipping. We get complaints about shipping from time to time and, although the owner knows that shipping is done by a separate company over which we have very little control. But, we want folks to really know that the manufacturers pick the shipping companies. They are also at the mercy of the shipping company.

I must say that most folks are completely content with how the chair was delivered, but, like I said, once in a great while the shipping is delayed, or inadequate, or problematic in some way. We apologize in advance for that. Although we do not have control over it, we can call the shipping company and share your concerns with them. Patience is a great virtue when those shipping problems occur. Everything always gets worked out, but in the heat of the moment, you might get really frustrated (as do I!!). We will do what we can in the process, but things still happen.

Have a super day!

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you that Inada is discontinuing the i2A massage chair in December. It has been a long-standing stalwart in the Inada line-up, but it’s days are almost over. Great chair…get one while you can. Mid-December is the expected “run-out” time.

International Massage Chair Shipments

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

I have had a lot of overseas inquiries lately from interested massage chair buyers. I don’ t know if it is the strength of the foreign dollar or the outrageous costs of massage chairs outside of the US, but the bottom  line is we get a lot of inquiries. We do not offer free shipping to orders outside of the continental USA, but we always offer to get a shipping quote for our visitors.

In the past, we have always just gotten an air freight shipping quote, but recently we have been looking into ocean freight.

Here is the pro and con of ocean freight versus air freight:

PRO:  Ocean freight is definitely cheaper in most cases…sometimes up to 60% less!

CON: Ocean freight takes longer to get to it’s destination…sometimes up to 45 days!

So, the trade-off with ocean freight is that you get a massage chair to you a lot cheaper but it is going to take a while longer to get there.

I just got a shipping quote for a Sogno Plus massage chair to Brazil. The air freight was about $1400, the ocean freight was $658. That is a significant savings. And, in this case, the shipping by ocean would “only” take about 26 days. That is about two weeks longer than an air freight shipment to the same place.

If you live overseas and are thinking of getting a massage chair as a Christmas gift,  you better get busy placing your order as soon as possible.

Just call or email us and give us your city and postal code and the model you are considering and I’ll get a shipping quote for you usually within 24 hours.

By the way, and this is the biggest thing, if you order any massage chair through our site, www.massage-chair-relief.com,  for international delivery, we will give you anywhere from $100 – $400 credit in shipping costs, depending on the chair model you order. You see, if you order a chair to be shipped within the continental USA, you get free shipping. It is free for you, but it costs me between $100-$400 depending on the chair model. So, if you are shipping internationally, we don’t have to pay the shipping for the chair and can pass the savings on to you!
