Just to recap…

The HT-7120 lists for $2999 on Human Touch’s website. Our regular price is usually $2699. Until the end of October, the price of the chair has been dropped down to $2499.

New Massage Chair From Inada

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

Inada has created a new massage chair that will be sold principally through the clinics/offices of health care providers, i.e. chiropractors, physical therapists, etc. Inada, of course, is the maker of the Inada Doctor’s Choice 3A massage chairrevolutionary Sogno Dreamwave Plus massage chair and the near-zero failure i2A massage chair. They are a very innovative company and have come out with very technologically progressive massage chair models.

The new model is called the Doctor’s Choice 3A massage chair. I can tell you that it is a chair that is designed to work on posture correction, as well as pain relief and muscle tightness relief. It will not be sold en masse on line but, as I said, it will be available only through health care providers. We will NOT be carrying it on www.massage-chair-relief.com. However, there is a new blog that has been set up that will provide info about this chair as it comes available.  You can go to www.inada-3A-massage-chair.com now and enroll on the pre-notification list to get updates about the chair as that info becomes available. I have sat on the chair and it is a pretty cool chair, to be honest. As a chiropractor, I must say that the posture correction features are great and very clever.

This chair is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2010. It will only be coming in black until demand determines additional colors.  The price point has not been determined yet, as far as I understand.

Check it out…pretty cool chair.

Inada Sogno Massage Chair Guest Stars on “30 Rock”!

Friday, October 16th, 2009

The wonderful Inada Sogno Dreamwave Plus massage chair will be debuting this fall in it’s new role as the massage chair of choice for Tracy Morgan on  the popular TV comedy “30 Rock.” The picture Inada Sogno massage chair on 30 rockshows a red model, which I have never heard of or seen before. I am afraid that everyone will now be calling our showroom wanting the red Inada Sogno chair! I think it is a pretty cool color. What do you think? You can read the story where I learned about it here:

http://furniture.about.com/b/2009/10/15/meet-30-rocks-newest-star.htm#comment-2

The article also talks about a Cube from Inada. Never heard of it. I will find out what that is all about and get back to you on this blog with more information.

By the way, if you want a new Inada Sogno Dreamwave Plus massage chair for yourself, you have to call our showroom to place the order. Our number is 801-417-8240. You can also call our toll-free number at 888-259-5380. Inada does not allow online sales of their chair, although online display of the massage chair is ok.

Have a super day!

Christmas Massage Chair Shopping in October?

Monday, October 12th, 2009

You may think me nuts, but I think you should start planning on getting your massage chair for Christmas now. Here are my reasons:

1. The closer you get to the holidays, the less of a selection you have. Chairs that have multiple colors tend to run out of certain, less-popular colors as the season progresses.

2. Shipping takes more time the closer you get to December 25th. Trust me when I say that it is a madhouse around Christmas-time. Most folks wait until the last minute (myself included!!) and then get into trouble wanting the massage chair chair by Dec. 25th because the shipping lines are filled up.

3. I heard on CNBC the other day that intial sales estimates for retailers were very low because of the lethargic economy. Well, last week retail sales figures were surprisingly higher than expected. So, the thinking is that manufacturers have put in lower than expected production for this 4th quarter, expecting the demand to be down. But, as it is turning out, retail sales are doing better than expected. Bottom line is that their may not be much inventory by December if sales continue to thrive. Massage chairs have already been ordered for 4th quarter and there may not have been enough ordered.

So, that is the rationale behind getting your orders sooner than later. Hope it made sense. I sure hope you are sitting on a magnificent massage chair come December 25th!

Massage Chairs Fix The Darndest Things!

Friday, October 9th, 2009

Our showroom had a fascinating opportunity experience with the Panasonic 30007 massage chair in our showroom a few weeks back. A man walked in, or should I say limped in, our office with his wife looking for a massage chair to sit in.  Apparently, he suffered from an Autonomic Nervous System disorder (I can’t remember the name of the disorder right now). His symptoms included, among other things,  a very pale face, inability to walk normally because of a gimped left leg,  and a drooping left side of his face. To be honest, he looked quite sick and appeared unable to function normally. His wife actually had to help him get through the door and into a chair. He appeared totally disabled. So, why a massage chair, you ask? Apparently, he had traveled to Japan for his work and had sat on a massage chair in an airport over there. He said that he thought there was a slight improvement in the way he felt when he got off the massage chair. He basically was coming by the showroom to see if that first ime in the chair was a fluke or a real therapeutic benefit.

Well, get  a load of this…after only sitting on the Panasonic 30007 for only 15 minutes, he got up and seemed like a totally different man. After only 15 minutes we were all amazed at the change in this man’s demeanor.  His normal face color was back, his limp was gone, the droop in his face was gone, and his general appearance and health was vastly improved…and I mean it was vastly improved. Once he got out of the chair he had a great urge to go to the washroom to void. Who knows, maybe the massage got his bowels going too! The man that came out of the washroom was a totally different man that came into our showroom that day. He then knew that it was not a fluke, but that a massage chair could actually make a dramatic contribution to his good health. He is on disability and applied for coverage of a massage chair so that he can have daily, regular therapy. For those of you who think that a massage chair is purely indulgent and just an interesting piece of furniture that happens to have a little massage feature as an aside, think again. A massage chair is truly a bonafide medical device that legitmately provides a notable therapeutic benefit. Try it…you’ll like it. And it just may surprise you how good you feel when you are done!

Sanyo 7700 Massage Chair…Some Thoughts

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

As most of you know, we just got in the Sanyo 7700 massage chair into our showroom. I have been sitting on it throughout the week and have some initial feedback on it. Sanyo 7700 zero gravity massage chair

1. I loved the vertical track down the low back on the Sanyo 5000, which is the recently discontinued sister model to the Sanyo 6700/7700 massage chair series. This Sanyo 7700 is just as good if not better. The track goes all the way down to the sacrum (the top of the butt muscles!) and does a wonderful job on the low back. It is far more smooth than that of the Sanyo 5000. After 20 or so years I am back to playing competitive hockey and my sacrum is the area that this 50 year old body laments after a game. The Sanyo hits that spot perfectly. I love it. As a matter of fact, I am playing tonight and will more than likely hit the chair on my way home from the rink!

2. I had to move the rollers up manually to hit my neck. Previous to manually adjusting the roller position, the neck massage consisted mostly of a shoulder massage….a good one, but not all the way up the neck. Once I adjusted the rollers, the neck massage was great.

3. I like the massage roller intensity adjustment for the upper back and lower back. I felt a greater change of intensity when I adjusted the upper back intensity and not as much in the lumbar region.

4. I love the “Home Position” button which, when pressed, will automatically bring the chair back up to the neutral “home” position. This saves having to hold down the incline button whilst waiting for the chair to restore to it’s original position. It doesn’t sound like that big of a deal, but when you have to do it everytime you get a massage, it gets to be an annoyance.

5.  The upper back massage is very intense…and I like that.

6. I may not have figured it out completely yet, but it looks like the 2nd zero gravity position will preclude the chair from using the rollers….it is strictly an air massage when the chair is in that position. I don’t like that. I would prefer to have a full body massage when I am in a full zero gravity position.

I hope this helps you in your massage chair shopping process. Feel free to call us at 801-417-8240 or toll-free at 888-259-5380.
