Massage Chair Relief TV Commercials!

Friday, November 28th, 2008

I am excited to announce that we have had a television commercial created for local broadcast here in Utah for our showroom, Massage Chair Relief. The commercials began airing on Wednesday on ABC and NBC local affiliates.  Below 60 second version of the commercial for your enjoyment:

Massage Chair Commercial

If you are a football fan, you’ll know who Reno Mahe is, who played for 5 years with the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL.  Obviously he is a fan of our massage chairs. His favorite is the HT-1650 massage chair.

We also have a 15″ and 30″ versions of the same commercial. I will post them all  on youtube.com so that they are available for everyone’s perusal.

Other than that, I must tell you that we had to raise our price on the Panasonic 30007 massage chair to $5999. I had kept it at $5499 for as long as I could, but Panasonic wants pricing to be the same across the board…so to $5999 it goes.

Massage Chairs In Our Showroom

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

It just occurred to me, after talking to a massage chair shopper, that I haven’t given a list of the massage chair models in our showroom. For the rest of America and the world, it probably doesn’t matter, but to Utah residents it just might be important to know. So, without further adieu, here is a list of the models that we carry in our Salt Lake showroom:

1. HT-1650 massage chair

2. HT-7450 massage chair

3. HT-7120 massage chair

4. Inada Sogno PLUS massage chair

5. Inada D5 Robo massage chair

6. Inada i2A massage chair

7. Panasonic 30007 massage lounger

8. Sanyo 5000 massage chair

9. ijoy 130 massage chair

10. HT-125 massage chair

11. HT-5005 massage chair (on the way!)

Please feel free to check them out on the site before coming down to the showroom so you know what to expect and what chairs you might want to take a look at while you are here.

Oh, and by the way, have a super Thanksgiving tomorrow.

A Visit From Inada Massage Chairs!

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

We were privileged to have Ken Kojima from Inada come visit our showroom on Saturday. Ken is the chief technician for  Ken Kojima from Inada Massage Chairs Inada Massage Chairs in the US and came over to visit Inada vendors in Utah. We spent an afternoon together visiting about the Inada massage chairs, and Ken showed us some interesting things about each of the Inada chairs that we have in our showroom…the Sogno PLUS massage chair, the Robo Massage Chair, and the i2 massage chair.

Among other things, he told us that the Sogno PLUS chocolate colored chair has black material covering the interior portions of the chair, rather than the creme colored material that is on our original chair. I will have to get those new pictures on our website. The creme colored interior material is still on the Standard model.

I also learned about how to rearrange the shoulder nodules on the cervical traction unit of our Sogno PLUS massage chair to optimize the trigger point therapy on the traps and levator scapulae muscles.  He also went over the voice response system of the new D5 Robo Massage Chair that we just got a couple of weeks ago. It is absolutely fascinating. These folks make some great chairs.

Ken also told me a little about the history of the Inada company and the president, Mr. Inada. Apparently, Mr. Inada made his first massage chair in 1962 by adding some rollers to the back of one of his chairs. That was the beginning. Now, they are one of the largest massage chair companies.

Thanks for the visit Ken. It was great to get to know you. Mydaughter, Melissa, was at the showroom for her first day of training, so this visit from Ken was extra special since my daughter got to hear about these fine chairs from the source. She really appreciated the visit. (also, thanks for your pliers, Ken, to pull our key out of the showroom door…I don’t know what we would have done without you. We got new keys this morning!!).

I’m Not Sure, But I Think I Lied About A Massage Chair!

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Somewhere along the line I mentioned, either in print or word, that the new Panasonic 30007 massage chair is made of real leather. A studious client made me aware of that error. Also, somewhere along the line, it was mistakenly communicated to me that it was real leather and I shared that with some folks. The brochures, our site, and the Panasonic site all say that the chair is a faux leather (faux means synthetic and not real leather). Now I am not sure what the source of my erroneous information was, but I called my Panasonic rep yesterday to clarify and he told me that it definitely is a faux leather and NOT real leather.

So, if I told anyone that the new Panasonic 30007 massage chair is upholstered in real leather, I was mistaken. It is faux leather…but I will say that to see the chair, I think most folks would have difficulty telling the difference between the faux and real leather. It feels soft just like a nice, luxury leather chair would feel.

I can say, with confidence, however, that this chair is manufactured in Japan!! You see, I don’t lie about everything…

Oh, and before I forget, the new Panasonic EP 1285 massage chair (also called the urban massage chair) is now in stock Panasonic EP1285 urban massage chairand ready for order. Apparently that model is leather!! (I better  be telling you the truth!).

Out With The Old, In With The New Panasonic Massage Chairs!

Monday, November 17th, 2008

As you know, Panasonic has discontinued it’s 30003 massage chair lounger. As you may also know, they have introduced the brand new, leather-upholstered, manufactured-in-Japan 30007 massage chair.Panasonic 30007 massage chair

Well, we received our very own Panasonic 30007 massage chair for our showroom last Wednesday. It was quite easy to set up (much like the 30003) and it was up and running in no time.  Here are some of the things we noticed immediately upon assembling and using the chair:

1. Faux wood arm rests - they look quite classy. They are a shiny, dark wood accent to the chair. Underneath the faux wood armrests is….

2. Arm massage. The wooden arm rests lift up at the back end, allowing you to slide your arms to the front of the arm rest where the wood is attached to the arm rest frame. The air bags in the massagers squeeze your fingers, wrists, and forearms. I actually felt my carpal bones (wrist bones) pop like a chiropractic adjustment when the air bags squeezed/massaged my wrists. That reminds me also that…

3. The back massage rollers were vigorous enough to pop my mid back bones, also like a chiropractic adjustment. Although vigorous, I did not find the Panasonic 30007 massage to be too vigorous or painful in the least.

4. Seat and hip massage. The seat has airbags in it and, along with that, there are hip massagers on either side of the seat (ala Sogno massage chair hip massage) that inflate and massage the ITB’s on the outside of both thighs.

5. Shoulder/subscapularis massage feature. There are two flaps that inflate out towards the back of your shoulders (right where the subscapularis muscles are…if you know your anatomy!). They have nodules in the flaps to simulate a trigger point massage to the muscles at the back of the shoulders. Pretty cool…never seen that in another massage chair before.

6. Like virtually all Panasonic massage chairs, no heat function anywhere on the chair.

Well, that about does it for today. The Panasonic 30007 is a very nicely appointed massage chair. You’ll enjoy it.

Massage Chair Relief and Make A Wish Foundation of Utah

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

This year we at Massage Chair Relief “adopted” a little gal named Hannah from the Make A Wish Foundation of Utah. Hannah is a 15 year old who has Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome, which is the result of a genetic error on chromosome 4. This genetic error affects fetal growth and development, resulting in a variety of symptoms. Hannah is non verbal but is able to express what she wants. Her favorite color is pink and her favorite food is pudding. She also likes soft things.

Well, when I was a chiropractor our clinic did a Make A Wish Foundation fundraiser by adopting a little darling girl named Alexis. Her wish was to go to Disneyworld, which she did do. The whole experience affected me deeply. As the father of 6 children I am very sensitive to children and their beauty. I am a pretty sensitive, emotional guy. When I went on a tour of the Make A Wish facility here in Salt Lake City  I was fighting back tears throughout my whole visit to that wonderful place. It was amazing. I would strongly recommend every one of you go there to get a feeling for the special mission of this organization.

Well, to make a long story even longer, when I opened my local showroom for Massage Chair Relief I approached Make A Wish Foundation again and offered to adopt another child. They blessed us with Hannah. What a darling she is!  Her wish was to swim with the dolphins. Well, I just received a letter from our contact at Make A Wish who told me that Hannah just came back last month from seeing her dream fulfilled. She sent me some pictures, but I can’t put them up unless the family gives us permission. If they do, there is one picture of Hannah and her Dad with a dolphin that I will put up for everyone to see. It is absolutely priceless.

What we did at our local store was pay $25-50 to the Make A Wish Foundation for every chair we sold through our local Salt Lake business throughout 2008. We actually began in December of last year. We raised $1250 and I would like to thank those of you who purchased from our Salt Lake store. We are so very grateful. I have been touched by your generosity. We did not put promote our fundraiser on the website, since we were working solely with the local chapter. But, in the future, we will do something on a more national level with a worthwhile charity and promote it more on this website.

By the way, for those of you who don’t know,  here is the mission statement of the Make A Wish Foundation :

“Our mission at the Make-A-Wish Foundation® is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.”

Inada D5 Robo Massage Chair Now In Our Showroom!

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Oh, man, this is a cool massage chair! We got the D5 Robo massage chair from Inada  on Thursday and it is quite a chair. Just off the top, I’ll tell you about a few of the features that seemed really cool to me:Inada D5 Robo Massage Chair

1. It has a voice response microphone that will take your voice commands to do what you want the massage chair to do. If you look at the picture on our site, you can see the microphone come around the right side of the chair at about head level. You speak into the mic and the chair does what you tell it to do. Very cool!

2. It also has arm  massagers that attach to the arm rests that can be moved (slid) along the arm rest to massage different parts of your arms. They look a little gaudy on the photo and they actually look the same in real life, but they are great massagers. They can also be removed so that the chair doesn’t have to look like something too terribly bulky.

3.  It is a very sharp looking chair. Very handsome and nice looking.  We got the black one.

4. This is a heavy massage chair! It is one of the heaviest if not the heaviest chair we carry.  Cliff at Inada tells me that the ottoman can easily be removed to make lifing easier. It also has wheels on the back of the legs to make for easier moving around your house or business. It is a very sturdy massage chair.

5. 3-D massage rollers. The back massage is very good and strong.  The 3-D massage pushes your body forward and back whilst rolling up and down. It is quite a unique massage experience. It is also available on the Sogno massage chair but not quite as pronounced.
